Hence why These boys would smash. Generic sounding haha. I personally think with major support Toh could crack Top Ten Bb hot 100. But he needs a big first up performance. Idol good start. But then maybe Fallon. No.Ellen first up Lol. Yes, you may be right. Maybe something generic-sounding like These Boys would be a smash. But Ghost Town made a number of "Best of 2015" lists precisely because it was a bit different and unexpected. And also because it was catchy and had fairly simple lyrics, like a lot of pop hits. Maybe that's the sweet spot for Adam -- a song that is catchy and people can sing along to, but also somewhat unexpected. Because I think an element of daring and edge is part of Adam's "brand". Not sure what other song on TOH fits the bill -- maybe the title track?? Toh only one. But yeah distinctive, immediate hook, and different. Heavy.Fire only one. Light too Edm. Music seems to ne shifting to Alt Music. So Toh I thiink well be launched on idol in about over two weeks.

I don't think Adam had anything to apologize for after the AMAs except for what he apologized for -- his vocals which were not his best. I also think that the net effect of the AMAs was positive for Adam -- it generate an enormous amount of press coverage and brought him a level of fame and blew away the American Idol stigma he had -- together that changed his trajectory for the better. It was net positive because he did not apologize. The people who should apologize are 1. Dr. Luke for the awful production of FYE and leaving it in Britney Spears' key. 2. the "brain trust" at 19 Entertainment and RCA who selected FYE as Adam's first single sort of (muddied up with TFM). 3. The production design team who came up with that impossible set for Adam to more through. 4. The AMA/Dick Clark Productions who promised an outrageous/shocking performance by Adam Lambert at ever commercial break. 5. The Disney/ABC execs who overreacted. And although millions watched the AMA and more watched the video of the performance, there were only 1,500 complaints -- all from one group with a political agenda. "No one" was really "shocked" by Adam's performance or the kiss. ETA: Adam's career was mangled in the beginning because he did not fit into any genre box, there was no clarity who he was as an artist. First Idol forces singers to genre hop -- Motown, Classic Rock, Rat Pack, 80's, etc. Then look at his first 3 singles -- TFM (retro power ballad), FYE (dance pop with a vintage beat and S&M themes) and WWFM (a mid-tempo ballad). The lack of clarity continued with Trespassing. It all seems to be fitting together now -- TOH is more focused and more Adam. Hmmmm, I think I may have to take issue with the no one was shocked. It was not what I expected and I didn't care for the excuses he gave for it either. As I said it took about a month for him to get it right so that I felt he understood why some us were quite upset at him. Seven years later and I still regret that I called my 10 year old out to watch as to this day I think it still colors his perception of Adam the artist. I very reluctantly bought the album so it would count for the first week, but I didn't play it. I didn't listen to the new songs that I had never heard. I pondered and I watched as he struggled to find words for what happened and it took awhile. At first his attitude was brash - What did you expect, kids shouldn't be up so late. And then it turned into he was wronged - Well Gaga was throwing whiskey bottles, nothing wrong with Madonna/Britney, he humped stair cases on the Idol tour and they loved it. And it took a while to eventually evolve into what I consider an apology, which considered the expectations of the viewers instead of blaming some of us for our reactions. It was that growth from petulant young man to empathetic mature man that solidified my respect. He made it through that fire, he was tempered by it, and came out stronger in the end. Now since I'm the one who brought up the AMAs I'll bring it back to my original intent. I hope those that were willing to give Adam the benefit of the doubt back then would also be willing to give SS the same courtesy and a bit more than 24 hours to think it over. My point is the Artist he was on Amas was the Artist he was on idol tour. He evolved alot in that arena tour. So I guess I dont see anything he did was anymore shocking THEN what Female performers had been doing. Suddenly a gay man grabs his crutch and kisses a male call the police lol. Lolk im not saying its not shocking at all. Bk then it was. But seven years later. Compared with Miley putting her rear end in Thickes crutch. I rewatched it. And thought hmmm not so.shocking. I.think time has made it more tame jmo.
