Back from Nashville...the last of my TOH concerts, and what glorious shows they both were. I had a VIP/photo op at both and have tons of precious memories I will cherish forever. I know I'm late discussing the music and things are now moving onto the upcoming Florida trifecta. For those interested in odds and ends and my musings about it all..... The Tabernacle. Since I had a VIP Standing GA with photo op....I arrived at the venue about one hour before checkin. There were only 6 folks ahead on me in line. I figured I'd be way back in line arriving so late and had reconciled to not being on the front row rail...and was OK with that since I had done it 3 times in OZ/NZ. I checked in inside The Tabernacle...got my bag of merch...waited for pics in the bar basement of that old church...the same place I had waited for my first M&G back in 2010. The group of photo op folks turned out to be very small <30. After we were finished we were led onto the floor where they had roped off a single line all the way across in front of the stage. I was thrilled! I got my same spot I love....a few folks right of the center mike. The show itself was electric...best audience I've ever been a part of. I was so proud that the South gave Adam so much love and energy. We can party and holler with the best of them. The audience all around me was so diverse. Great mix...lots of younger folks. This is a great venue...kinda funky vintage churchy....for a party. Lost my voice, danced and sang and flailed from start to finish. Just an awesome experience. Can't wait to go back and watch the ustream and the vids. I also got a setlist from this show. Gonna frame it, of course. A little side story. Back in 2010 at my first M&G at the Tabernacle I had taken Adam a present. It was a blue suede box of really early Elvis DVDs...collector's edition...thought the band could watch on the tour bus. I gave it to Neil and hoped he gave it to Adam. I'll never know for sure.....but it's the thought that counts. I haven't taken any gifts anywhere since then. The day before I was leaving for Atlanta I thought maybe I'd take a little something since I was returning to the site where I had met Adam for the first time. I thought what could I take that I had on hand. I had bought a necklace from Adam's friend...Joshua aka Puja a couple of years ago. It was a little big for me and I'd never worn it. He had made it in India years ago when he was learning to do jewelry, it said in the description when I bought it. It was a crescent moon with pewter/silver on one side and black enamel with silver geometric lke diamonds and triangles on the other side. I decided I'd stick it in my purse....just in case. I put it in the nice blue box that I had received it in. I didn't have time to run to the store for some ribbon to wrap around it and looked in my Adam cedar chest and found a left over piece of the silver metallic ribbon I had used on my gift to him back in 2010. Another blue box tied up with silver metallic ribbon. The box barely fit in my purse side compartment. I knew that sometimes folks were able to get gifts to him, but it was usually given to Rob, etc...and gifts brought to M&Gs were discouraged. We were told if any gifts were brought in OZ that they would be given to charity, etc. Well, while our little group was waiting in line, the photographer...who was also in charge of photo op protocol and instructions, etc. announced that if anybody had a gift for Adam that she would take it and put it on a table right there by Adam. Everybody was surprised. She told us after our quick pic we could point to our gift as we were exiting. So I gave the photographer my gift. As I walked in for my pic I told Adam that I had met him for the first time at this venue back in 2010 and he replied something like "You did" and I said yes, I keep coming back for more. I quickly mentioned I had gone to OZ and he said so glad you keep coming back or something along those lines. After the pic I looked and there was my little blue box with the silver ribbon sitting all by itself on a little table right by Adam. The first 5 folks hadn't brought anything and don't know if he got another gift or two after me. The photographer had told us as we left we could point to our gift...so I did...along with a quick little commentary that it was a necklace from Puja and I hoped he would like it. LOL. Anyway, I was tickled that I had thought to bring him something and this time at least I know that he knew it was from me. I love it when you get a little hunch to do something...or The Universe is whispering in your ear to do something and then you do and then things work out. I wrote a short note inside as well. He may never wear that necklace, and that's perfectly fine because I know he gets tons of jewelry, but I love the fact that he would read the note inside. The Ryman.... For this concert we had seats. This was another amazing show. Adam seemed to be continuing his love for The South. This time our photo op was really big/long. I think over 60 folks. They announced the gifts on a table thing once again and I saw several with gift bags. We got cute Adam with a backwards ball cap, black fringed top and skinny black pants. Saw lots of familar faces lined up in the Ryman Balcony...Dancy, Babs, Ljsmack, gals from Texas, etc. When I walked in for my 10 secs, before I could say anything, Adam said "Great to see you again". Guess he remembered the babbling fan from The Tabernacle. lol. As I walked up, I told him that the Atlanta show was all kinds of awesome and he replied that it was a great show. So, my TOH touring is done. I't been a blast, and I'm thrilled it all ended for me with these two "Best shows evah!" Sounds like you had the time of your life ! So happy for you.

Thanks everybody! Since my first time seeing Adam in summer 2009 at the Idol tour till now I have seen 40 shows total...including 15 with QAL. There have been a few really special ones and this Tabernacle show ranks right up there with my favs.
Another funny thing......Since the SEC Basketball tournament is currently going on in Nashville....directly across from the Ryman....all the close by downtown Nashville hotels were either sold out or $500 per night. So we decided to stay across the river at the Clarion next to the Titans football stadium because it was a lot less expensive. Anyway...we were walking down the 6th Floor hallway where several of us Glamberts were staying on the way to the elevator and we passed Melanie Martinez.....the cute gal who opened for Adam in NZ/OZ coming off the elevator going to her room. I immediately noticed it was her.....there is no mistaking her....and shouted......Hi Melanie! She was really surprised somebody knew her...especially an old Southern lady. I told her I saw her 6 times in OZ/NZ....LOL. I told her I thought she was great and talented, etc. and she was very sweet. She's really a cute, quirky, teeny little thing in person. I told her we were there to see Adam at the Ryman and told her she should go see him. She said she would like to but had a conflict. Of course, I imagine she saw him a time or two in OZ;

Thanks for the recaps!! I so wish I could have been at both of those southern concerts! But at least I have some more shows. **** On Idol - the show is on for 2 hours. Adam will have a nice amount of time. It is a big deal for Idol to have him on.

They made the same gift announcement at the Charlotte M&G -- and said that Adam would get all the gifts. It was so nice and so different than what they did during the Holiday show M&Gs. In Charlotte M&G (also small with <30 people) there was a young woman in front of me -- maybe 17 years old who was there with her mom. She had a gift for Adam and was so afraid she would not be able to give it to him. She just beamed when she heard that there was a place for gifts and that Adam would get all of them. Watching her (she was so happy/nervous/excited) made almost as my M&G.
