TV usage of WTTS seems to be having an effect on the itunes charts as the song was used again tonight and is now back in the top 200 pop.

I posted this at the end of last nights tour thread, but I think it belongs here as well because it is numbers related. Re: WTTS being played during televised coverage of NHL playoffs.
Playoffs start with 16 teams........ which is eight series in the first round........ each series is a best of seven.
Second round is 8 teams.....four series....again, each is a best of seven ........and then 4 teams, best of seven..... until the Stanley Cup Final.
If it is played during every game, there is the potential (if each series goes to 7 games) for it to be heard more than 100 times.
Still hoping for MLB usage as the NHL has the smallest reach of the four major pro sports in the US.
Of course in Canada the NHL is top dog, but WTTS seems tied to NBC and it's affiliates, and in Canada most fans would watch on our own CBC or TSN.

I don't see where you are getting that it is tied to NBC. The earlier basketball game usage covered CBS, TBS and one other that I can't remember right now.

That's all fine and good but the song has already been used on other networks during sports programs so I doubt NBC has any kind of exclusive. Thanks for the info though, I wasn't sure if the hockey games were all on one network or not. |

Thanks for the info though, I wasn't sure if the hockey games were all on one network or not. That part of my original post ("tied to NBC") was about Canadians not likely hearing the song because 1. The lack of a Canadian team in the playoffs and 2. That the sync rights to the song for NHL coverage are only on a U.S. network. Sorry for the confusion. |

Hoping for the WTTS TV sports exposure to make a difference in the US! In the meantime I checked the ticket sales in Moscow and the amount of avail. tickets on the Crocus Hall site has dramatically increased since yesterday - which I think is caused by a possible return of the unsold tickets by smaller outlets (I'm speculating). The three on-line sites now have a total of 2347 tickets available, and I think there might be around 700-1000 GA tickets not visible atm... We know the venue capacity is 7500...while selling roughly 4K tickets is wonderful  , especially with the 18+ designation and a mainly very young fan base I still feel horrible that Adam will be looking out on all those empty seats...  same happened for GNT... |
