No new Adds found. Doubt there will be many with Adam out of the country.

Ok. Somewhere I must have missed the next single. Whatever happened to the summer banger 'the original high' as a single just curious. What changed?

Ok. Somewhere I must have missed the next single. Whatever happened to the summer banger 'the original high' as a single just curious. What changed? My opinion is that after TOH was released in Australia but failed to connect or build they changed gears. WBR seems to be focusing more on responding to what connects in streaming. GT built strongly in streaming and radio especially here in the US followed that. None of the other songs have clicked that well in the streaming market. WTTS was described by Adam as a surprise cooked up for the fans. However it may be that they decided to take the Idol appearance as an opportunity to introduce something new in the hopes to get another streaming hit. Regardless of where that goes they are making their money on that song through the licensing to TV. Whether it was truly written for that purpose we'll probably never know but it seems to be making its home in the sports broadcast world, first with the basketball playoffs, now with hockey and hopefully it will also be used with baseball where it really makes the most sense since baseball has long been known as "the show". Adam has talked a lot recently about streaming giving the people a voice in what they want to hear. WBR seems to have focused strongly on streaming as a means of developing artists. I feel that they are not going to push something that isn't showing signs of taking off in terms of streaming. WTTS is not really taking off although it's not dropping too badly but CGH seems like it might be connecting as it looks like the streaming may be building on that. I have a feeling that they aren't going to go to radio in the US with anything else this era but I don't think that is a bad strategy. This era has been a success as even without having hard numbers I feel fairly confident that TOH has out performed Trespassing. He has built his profile across the board. I think WBR is probably pretty happy with how things went. GT was actually a pretty big risk as a single much less a first single and the fact that it connected as well as it did and nothing else really did is probably a good sign for Adam. To me it shows that Adam is better off taking risks than playing it safe.

To me it shows that Adam is better off taking risks than playing it safe. Agree with TOH not doing much in Australia. It went somewhat better in Poland, but still not doing good enough I guess. I don't agree with not putting any music out there though. He needs to keep himself at least somewhat visible. It's a shame radio here in the Netherlands isn't playing either WTTS or CGH. Although some local stations are playing CGH right now. Especially CGH seems to connect at least to some people. It's doing decent streams WW and is doing nicely in Germany and Austria in both Spotify and iTunes. Not smashing yet, but maybe with some more familiarity it can go further up. WTTS is doing better than ALN worldwide in streams by the way. Although the streams are dropping pretty steadily. Don't know how big the influence is from the sports broadcasts. I think the biggest problem for this era was that GT did to good! It stayed out there for so long that they had to postpone the next single (or so I think) and also had to spread it out for different countries. When they released the album there were so many potential singles (or so they said), but they just didn't get a chance to put them out there with GT doing so well for such a long time. Now the album is old and the songs are pretty old as well. Most were written in 2014. That's 2 years ago. Although I think The Light still could do very well. It's still reacting in Spotify on something every now and then. It's the song with the most fluctuating pattern in stream amounts. It's a song where Adam has no writing credits though so I'm not sure they want to release that. As for CGH in the Netherlands I've noticed that I'm about the only person in the Netherlands who is streaming the video on YT. This I calculated from the amount of weekly streams from the YT stats. So I stopped streaming 24/7 a bit. Turning off my computer during the night.

I don't know anything about radio in other countries but here in the US if the label has to push a song they need a good argument to fight for it and without a streaming presence in today's climate I think they are better off not pushing. Especially because Adam's availability for promo here was so limited. WTTS was available to radio so they could have played it but I feel that the reason they never set an impact date was due to not getting a strong streaming build. They did get it on a bunch of playlists and they are obviously making money and getting exposure for Adam with the sync licensing. I just don't think there is anything right now for WBR to really push. Maybe they decided to just have him get back in the studio once his touring is done. After he has a bit to recharge. The Macy's campaign and the role in RHPS are good visibility and who knows what else might be in the works. I know fans want WBR to push songs to radio but pushing without good stats to back you up can have a negative effect so I think WBR is doing the right thing.

I also think skaschep's point about GT being around too long is very good. A second single, another banger, like TOH, EITN, or TL, around first of Oct. would have been perfect. i think Adam does better with WW releases too. None of this different dates for different countries. It does make me a bit sad that his two singles that epitomized the albums Trespassing and TOH, never got to be heard by the masses. Back in the studio and a new album next year is optimal right now.

Thank you rihannsu. I also think pushing a song when it's not doing decent numbers in streaming is not worth it.
I know nothing about Dutch radio other than what I can see, but I did think there was more choice for the DJ's themselves compared to maybe the US. There is however probably also going around a lot of money in the back that we are not aware off. What I do believe is that a lot of the same music is getting played over and over and somehow also get's popular every time.
I really wonder what those 4k people who were in Amsterdam at his concert are doing to promote Adam. As I said I could calculate from the YT stat's that I'm about the only one streaming CGH video on YT. Also WTTS isn't being streamed a lot. Yes at the start, but now it dropped back heavily. Most of those 4k people don't even know about CGH I think since it only got played once on the biggest radio stations and there were hardly any reports.
It has to be fans who give a song that first push. There are some Dutch artists who know this very well and are getting streamed a lot as well. Probably urging their fans to stream a lot and also maybe manipulating it as well somewhat by streaming a lot themselves (most are collaborations).
I calculated that if 3k of those 4k that were at the concert would stream the same Adam song 10x per day it would be in the charts in no time. It would get to top 50 in Spotify and it would get picked up by radio as well. People however don't know this or not aware of this. They do complain though when Adam isn't played on radio. Yet they don't stream.
Also visibility is key. The Macy's campaign and RHPS is mainly focused on the US (although it get's reported about in the UK as well). That's great and is his biggest market, but it doesn't help him here. In the Netherlands he's not visible other than that GT and WWFM are still being played fairly regularly.
