Well one thing is sure about Adam #2 -- it will not be forgettable. I am 100% sure of that. Adam could put our a great album, a mixed album, or a real turkey, but I know that he will not put our a generic album. And that alone will break him out of the pack of recent Idol follow-up albums. -- Daughtry #2 - no evolution from his first album -- Archie #2 - generic pop album -- Jordin #2 - not evolution from her first album, one hit single -- Now we get Cook #2 and (much to my surprise) it is almost a step backwards, I hope that Adam and RCA do not fall into this "safety trap" for his next album. Honestly, I would really rather see Adam with an ambitious failure that a safe generic forgettable album. JMHO YMMV Well he seems to be collaborating with proven hit makers and thus should have a sound more contemporary and in step with what's hot now....so I don't fear a step backwards. He is the most out there idol person so I expect him to push some boundaries and evolve. Hell he is the ONLY gay idol I know of that routinely made out with another dude onstage during his tour, I dunno if he would let the label keep him in the safe box. LOLOL.

I like DC, went and saw him tour. I'm not BSC when it comes to him though. I'm listening to the new album. I like it fine and I'll buy it. He's a good guy and so I will support him by buying A copy. Not the twentyfortybillion copies I do for Adam. ;D He is a good live performer. I hope he gets to continue in the business.

NY vote on same sex marriage today or tomorrow. They are negotiating on language so that churches can not be sued for discrimination if they refuse to perform ceremonies. We need one vote and there are several Republicans still on the fence. Chairman told them to vote with their conscience - not their politics. Governor had a ton of private meetings with Republicans last week. We only need one more vote! That doesn't make sense. Churches can never be sued for discrimination--that's the "up" side for them in the separation of church and state. A church can restrict its membership to only whites, or only blacks, or only people with knobby knees if they so desire. That's always been the baffling point to me about the churches' battle against gay marriage. The important part of marriage to a church is the religious aspect anyway. Any religion would be allowed to deny gay people the right to be married in their church, so what do they care if gays have the legal right to be married?

I don't feel FYE was safe at all. So, if RCA let him be Adam with album #1, I don't think they will make him be safe with album #2. I don't think Cook's album is a step backwards at all. I think it is who he is and who he wants to be. Now, if you think he should be doing Pop songs, then yes, it is not a pop album. I truly feel that this is the album David wanted to make and he did it. The bad thing about the AOL stream is that they posted the tracks in the wrong order and since this album has a theme, it should have been posted correctly. Cook's fans have posted to RCA Ed about that and Ed's response was, "It's not important enough to worry about." I think David might not agree with that. Circadian is clearly supposed to be the opening song and REM is supposed to be the last. Oh well!

Adam and Dadbert go to a little dive bar in SD for Father's Day bonding, and Adam sings a couple of songs for his dad. We get a couple of tweets from ONE guy, and a couple of crummy photos from a camera phone. Where the hell is the YT video???
But, actually, I think this is sooooo cool. My sister plays piano at a local club in her hometown, and invites people to come up to the mike and sing something. She has her "regulars" and everyone has a great time. I am just imagining what she would think if Adam showed up with his dad in her club! I think I have a new fantasy. (And finally she would be an Adam convert. I haven't been able to get her interested in him, despite repeated exposure. But, if she heard that voice live, 3 feet from her, and jammed with him, she would be enamoured.)
I think it is wonderful that Adam could be that humble and anonymous (and generous with his dad) that he would get up and sing without fanfare and paps. What fun for everyone!

My only conclusion is that it is the last straw for them to grab onto.

I've been fangirlysquirling over it the whole day since that first tweet came in. No idea why, but it's totally presh to me. And I can't even begin to imagine that would happen to me in my default dive next door

Adam Lambert Posts Pro Gay Marriage Equality Message to Fans Adam Lambert posted a touching pro gay marriage quote from writer and comedian Liz Feldman to his fans on Sunday, June 19, 2011. It reads: "It's very dear to me, the issue of gay marriage. Or, as I like to call it: 'Marriage.' You know, because I had lunch this afternoon, not gay lunch. I parked my car. I didn't gay park it. [Liz Feldman]" Adam Lambert responded to Feldman's quote with a message of his own: "Exactly. If we want to progress as a society we have to begin to focus on how we are the same and not how we're different." The popular 29-year-old singer started a lively conversation among his fans by posting the quote. Most people who replied to Adam Lambert's message wholeheartedly supported it, and at least one person referred to the term "marriage equality" as a better term than "gay marriage" to support marriage rights for the gay community. Unfortunately, there are still some people who disagree with Adam Lambert's message of marriage equality. However, there is no doubt that society will continue to make strides toward equal rights for everyone in the future. The only problem is that there should be equality for everyone now. celebs.gather.com/viewArticle.action?articleId=281474979478065

Circadian is clearly supposed to be the opening song and REM is supposed to be the last. Oh well! Not sure why AOL has it out of order -- but I listened to it in order based on the comments on DCO.com. I honestly think that only a committed Cook fan would care about the sequence but I am not sure who else would listen to the entire album but a Cook fan. So on this one, I think RCA Ed is wrong, and I agree that Cook would probably privately disagree with him. All said -- the great classic theme albums worked in sequence or not. For example, Bat Out of Hell was a great track and a great theme album. ************************** Big internet news --- Custom Domain Suffixes Are Coming: Here's What You Need to Know Read more: techland.time.com/2011/06/20/custom-domain-suffixes-are-coming-heres-what-you-need-to-know/#ixzz1PpUBYyAj
