Hey
betty , which TOH concert was your favorite?
Hmm, difficult to decide!
What I definitely can say is, that our first concert in Amsterdam wasn’t my favorite show! First of all I injured my hip in the tram on the way to the concert and it was very painful
and so we decided to give up our good standing-places near the stage already before the concert started and looked for seats on the tribune in the back instead! The tribune was so far away from the stage that I didn’t see Adam properly and had to look up on pics the next day what he had been wearing the evening before! Besides the audience (at least on the tribune!) was totally lame!
I was
the only one on the tribune who stood and danced and sang and screamed during the whole concert, the rest of the audience sat there as if they were watching TV at home from their couch and only clapped a few seconds between the songs! And when I screamed at the beginning, the man in front of me turned around, gave me the evil eye and put his fingers in his ears! I only shouted at him “This is a concert!” and ignored him from that moment on! After five songs he stood up and looked for another seat, hahaha!!!
So, all in all the concert wasn’t bad, Adam and the band were great as always but unfortunately there was no atmosphere in the hall! Oh but at least I got to wave to our wonderful
Lilly who sat on the tribune not far away from us!
But aside from the concert, the journey to Amsterdam was great! The city is so beautiful with all the typical small old houses and all the canals and the bridges and the weather was also good, so I took a lot of pics there! And the best thing was that we met with the sweet Atop-girls
Nic42, skaschep, Mireille and freakydeaky on the day after the concert and spent the whole afternoon together, we had so much fun and Nic was the best tour guide ever!!!
The Amsterdam crew: Freakydeaky, Betty, Mireille, Nic and Skaschep!
Berlin was a great concert! We managed to get in the 10th row, that was the experience I needed after the disappointing Amsterdam concert because I could see Adam and everyone/everything else on stage very well and I had at least the feeling that I had eye-contact with him once or twice, lol!!!
Besides the audience there was loud from the beginning and so it was a fantastic show and Adam also was in a great mood! The downside for me at this concert was that it was so difficult for me to stand over five hours! So at the end I was honestly glad when the concert was finally over! My feet and legs hurt so much that I was almost not able to walk anymore, it was difficult for me to get out of the venue again, and we even cancelled a meeting with other Glamberts in a restaurant afterwards because we only wanted to get back to the hotel. And the next day we couldn’t do much sightseeing because my whole body still hurt so much, so I think in the future there will be no more standing concerts for me!
And because of that I think that Vienna was my most favorite concert! The whole day was so relaxed! We already met with some sweet Atoppers
(QueeenAl and Clematis from Austria and Rpeura and Jaymaster from Finland!) in a restaurant near the Gasometer in the afternoon to eat something and have a drink or two and we spent the whole afternoon and also the evening before the concert together in several bars around and in the venue.
It was such a nice afternoon and we talked and laughed a lot together! We all had seats and so we even skipped the support act (an Austrian DJ) and went into the hall shortly before Adam started! And we had great seats on the balcony, I could see Adam and the whole stage very well! We weren’t allowed to stand up on the balcony but somehow that was totally okay for us and nobody complained about it! The audience on the floor and also on the whole balcony nonetheless participated from the start to the end and, as we read later on twitter, Adam felt the love from all of us in Vienna!!!
Of course I was also chair-dancing and singing and screaming and clapping the whole time! I have to say that this was the most relaxed concert ever for me and my DH, we had a great time and everyone was so happy afterwards! Of course we had to take one more drink together with the others before we drove back to the city-center with the Metro together, lol!!!
And I’m so glad that we had some more days in Vienna to do some sightseeing and visit the typical coffeehouses and discover some typical rustic restaurants! The city is so beautiful and full of huge impressive old buildings!
I took tons of pics and I will need some more days to sort and resize them all! And our hotel-room on the 12th floor in a hotel in the city-center had a big balcony, so we had a fantastic view over Vienna! But 6 days weren’t enough to see all the sights of Vienna, so if we have the possibilty one day, we will definitely travel there again!
BTW, my DH took four videos during the concert in Vienna (EITN/FYE, WTTS, Lucy/After Hours and The speech) with our old small camera. They are okay (although the sound isn’t that good!) and I will try to upload them to my youtube-channel in the next days! I will let you know when you can watch them!
