At 4:14pm, 20 min ago, my sister called in a tizzy to say Adam Levine said something "not nice" about Adam Lambert on The Voice last night. Because she's my sister but we have very little in common, I let her tell me the whole story and acted surprised..... did not tell her I went to bed at 2am laughing my butt off at all of the melodrama here and on Twitter. She has no need to know the dept to which I have sunk in my Adam mania.

OK. I truly cannot blame Adam Levine for trying to ignore Adam in public. I really don't know what it must be like to be in his shoes. IMHO he'd have to be Christ himself not to feel somewhat threatened by Adam Lambert. I just thought he was smarter than this. It is REALLY is not a wise move to piss off Adam's fan base. This is not a fickle ditzy group of teenage girls adoring a simple cute crooner. His fan base includes a large group of articulate, intelligent, fighters who consistantly stand up to defend Adam's character, integrity and talent. You WILL end up looking stupid.
None of this is to say that I think WWFM is any kind of masterpiece. Adam's the masterpiece. : )

Here's my favorite saying that I quote at people all the time- "Never assume malice when incompetence will do."So I won't assume that Adam Levine is the lying snake in the grass that he looks like he is. I will assume he's an idiot. For a whole host of reasons that we've all talked about. And I will make fun of him for it forever. Even if you give him the benefit of the doubt about the song, what about the NOT apology tweet. He could have been a whole lot more gracious like someone else we know and love.  |

Ha, ha! Maybe Adam went as a guest of Katy and Levine thought he crashed it! (Ala Gaga) Also, this party was before album #1 and before WWFM. |

Have a great one.   LMAO to this: To build on pjd's post ... I cannot imagine Levine can be that freaking clueless. The dude is a world traveler. The song charted in how many countries? It's been on public music systems for more than a year – you hear it in the store, restaurants, aiports, etc. How can you not? And WWFM was competing on the same charts in the same formats – on VH1 countdown at the same time for months. Did he ever check his own charts? Then add that to the Grammy nominations. What kind of egotistical ass doesn't bother to even READ THE OTHER NOMINATIONS in your genre??? Not even so much as a sideways glance? Was he even at the Grammy ceremony? And what about producers. He was working on his new album, would he not even scan the producers nominations? No one could possibly have their head that far up their own ass, could they? So much of any business, particularly entertainment, you need to network and you go to TONS of events. What? Does he say, "Hi, Max Martin/Dr. Luke, etc., etc., I have no idea who you are or what you do because I don't pay any attention to anything regarding our industry ... Oh, but make sure to think of me next time you have a good gig going on." As mamadeb pointed out, he said he never heard the acoustic version of "Heartless" before yet Kris opened for M5 last summer. Whaa? I don't know what is more douchey. His rudeness; his cluelessness or his utter lack humility. My daughter told me a few months ago that my son and his friends (seniors in high school) used to tell parents they were staying at one another's houses on the one Saturday night a month when the movie theater by Univ of Pitt showed ROCKY HORROR. At first I didn't believe her, they were all such "good boys" and are now husbands and fathers who probably voted for John McCain, but when I asked him, he admitted it with a laugh. Little does he know, it made me smile that he wasn't as perfect as he seemed. I've seen it 5 or 6 times, but not as big a fan as most. |
