Thanks for everyone's good wishes -- it reminds me of the A-Team TV show from years ago, when Hannibal would say "I love it when a plan comes together" -- this one sure did! My friends have all been pretty blown away by how fast this has been, but I have wanted to move for years so it doesn't seem that fast to me -- except for the part where I have to pack and take care of a million details in the next two weeks. I'm taking 3 cats to the vet this week, having some drywall repaired and having a new microwave installed to replace a dead one...whew. And grandduchess--the next time you are in the area, I have room for the RV in the driveway! OMG, now I am kind of embarrassed yet strangely happy that I just posted what I did. Think I will leave it because I love like minds and all. Do you mean the '....when a plan comes together' thing? Because I wrote the same thing back on page 9.... (Revlisacat.... Wow! don't you just love it when a plan comes together! So many pieces of a puzzle tied up....) A case of many like minds thinking alike.....

Great capture of what life is like during summer here in Arizona. We have hit record high temperatures the past two days and are expected to set another record tomorrow. And yes, you CAN fry an egg on the pavement. (I've done it.) At Walmart yesterday I bought a new steel trash bin for my kitchen. It wouldn't fit in the trunk so I put it on my car's front seat. Drove directly home (about 10-15 minute trip). Could not get the bin out of my car because the metal was so hot, I would have burned myself badly. Had to wait until dark before I could retrieve the bin safely. We don't normall y get this hot in Benson. I've had to change a lot of habits! I had a little episode of heat exhaustion last week because I think I am invincible. And laugh if you want but I go out and water the gravel the Quail run across so the babies can make it to the water I have in the back for them. They run without moving their upper bodies and look like little ping pong balls as they run And it is not all bad, we get flowers like this! perspective on this is about 10 feet tall! Aww, bless your sweet heart...that is the kind of thing I would do too...

To my Atop peeps who live in the hot zone known as Arizona -- I remember when I lived there, a pastor colleague of mine once quipped "welcome to summer in Phoenix, when the valley of the sun turns into the surface of the sun". Best quote about summer there ever! I spent 5 years in Mesa, and I remember going to Target, getting out of the car and seeing the heat waves coming off the pavement. Also, in the middle of the summer it was like living after the apocolypse in my neighborhood during daytime--no sounds of birds or people, just air conditioning compressors running. Great capture of what life is like during summer here in Arizona. We have hit record high temperatures the past two days and are expected to set another record tomorrow. Gorgeous photos! Thank you for being so considerate of the quail. What infuriates me are the stupid people who leave dogs (and children, of course) in cars and walk dogs on pavement when it is 100 degrees or more outside.
