Quite a few of you have mentioned you aren't familiar with Iggy. Iggy is one of the artists who is on the 'special list' used by everyone who is cool to determine who they must hate. Here she raps in Black Widow while Rita Ora (who is also a member of the list) sings. youtu.be/u3u22OYqFGoShe is currently going thru a rather messy and of course very public breakup with her fiance. www.yahoo.com/celebrity/iggy-azalea-claims-she-split-095000953.htmlShe has no fucks to give and just keeps pressing on despite the crap thrown at her. Sound familiare? If by "sounds familiar" you are indicating that what Iggy is going through has any similarity to Adam, I totally and completely disagree. Even people who do not like Adam, describe him as "nice." He is honest and never pretends to be someone else. He is a master of social media. Generally, Adam has earned respect from the press, people he works with and within the music community. Adam respects the people who works with and other artists. I doubt anyone has ever used the work "nice" to describe Iggy. She does not seem to have any idea who she is. In 2015, she finally (and wisely) turned over her social media accounts to her management (who was going to drop her if she did not). She has few supporters in the media based on her behavior, and people who have worked with her do not have kind words about her. Iggy does not appear to respect anyone -- it may be part of her act, but it is not essential to being a rap artist to be rude. And there is no chance Adam would ever release a single as drab and pedestrian and repetitive as "Azzillion" [the failed wantabe lead single from her unreleased, now on the shelf 2016 planned album.] Iggy Azalea -Azzillion (Official Audio) youtu.be/W401QBqGB88I am not a Iggy Azalea hater -- she and her team actually have put out some decent pop rap music. NME put together a list of her 10 best songs -- www.nme.com/list/iggy-azalea-s-10-best-songs-ranked/378264That said, I have seen her live and there must be a lot of studio tricks used to craft her songs because she is not a very capable rapper and she is not much of a vocalist. On the similar side, they both push fashion boundaries and have a lot of tattoos. Oh, and they both prefer men.

None of those AI comments came across as particularly harsh to me. The unvarnished truth is something some folks in this 'everybody gets a trophy" world have never heard. Tell it like it is Adam. I agree. I always cringed when judges on AI or whatever told someone who pretty obviously would never be a good singer to keep working on it and come back next year. Or families pushing some tone-deaf kid to try out! (And as for wanting to jump off a cliff, country music very often elicits that feeling in me, haha!) I have to say that most modern country music has that same effect on me too! Adam can be very honest and direct -- and do it in a way that is not really mean. Some people (including me when I was young and an aspiring musician) need to get honest, constructive feedback -- and, if they are not good, be encouraged to find other ways to express their talent.

Adam is far from a master of social media imo. In fact, that is the number one criticism I see of him even from his most loyal supporters. He can be really good at it but it's sporadic at best And Iggy has 10X the followers that Adam does

About Adam's judging.....Nothing wrong with sincere honesty, but for my taste he was a bit too harsh last time on Idol. After all, he was the least seasoned on the judges panel and appeared the most critical. I personally find a charming but honest Adam more appealing and I do hope that I will see more of that side of his on X-Factor. Let's face it, it's a reality show that offers publicity for the judges. There I Said It. (Sorry about the double post. Couldn't figure out how to post below a quote from my iPhone)

Some people (including me when I was young and an aspiring musician) need to get honest, constructive feedback -- and, if they are not good, be encouraged to find other ways to express their talent. For many years I taught adults who wanted to learn and master a difficult skill: interpreting from one language to another. In general, they didn't know how to take feedback. They would argue with me, telling me their interpretation was fine, when it was garbled or inaccurate or missing crucial elements. This always puzzled me. I was the teacher, a nationally certified interpreter for twenty plus years, with a masters degree. They were aspiring to become professional interpreters. It wasn't about grades, or passing a class. To work professionally, they had to pass a national skills test administered by an independent organization. You would think my feedback and critique would be invaluable to them in their pursuit of a career. But often, no. Go figure! And there were always a few who just weren't cut out to be interpreters, due to learning disabilities in the area of language and communication. To not tell them honestly that they should consider another field of study was doing them a disservice. They were spending a great deal of their time and money in college for something they couldn't achieve. Judges on these reality shows who praise folks for standing on stage and breathing as if they were amazing talents destined to super stardom is actually cruel. I am glad Adam is giving honest, specific feedback.

But after sitting on that chair all day and listening to wannabe it's going to get to him and they're going to get the taste of the "pretty harsh" Adam.. ![GrinSmiliey](http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/Quu3/Adam%20Smilys/Other%20Smileys/grin.png) . Though maybe that's why XFactorAU hired him this season. They must've been watching that AI NY audition as well.

Giving constructive feedback is a skill and an art, but it starts with having mastery and extensive experience in the subject. Adam is a consummate performer, and the best singer of this generation. He has been performing for almost 3/4 of his life. I would think that Adam's feedback and critique would be more helpful and on target than a producer like Simon Cowell, a bass player like Randy, or a pop singer who has never studied voice. For example, "It's a little pitchy" is not particularly helpful. What does that mean? Where? Why? As a singer, Adam can say, "You tended to go flat at the end of phrases, because you ran out of breath. If you work on stronger breath support , your accuracy will improve." That gives the person something to target. At auditions, any negative comments can hurt, but are necessary, don't you think?
