Just commenting on something from Idol that I did not notice before. It is a slow day and I am watching my Idol8 dvd [thanks Abriton!] and during the glimpse we got of the 'backstage' antics of creating the Magic Show Ford commercial we see McIntyre nervously ask for assurance that they don't have him wearing anything PINK. Am I the only one that missed that....we discussed at great length Gokey and his families attitudes and the 'conversion' of Sarver but this comment -- not so much. JS... I'm no fan of Scott MacIntyre, but I wouldn't read too much into that comment. In a prior episode, the wardrobe peeps had put Scott into pink clothing (pants, maybe? I can't recall), and he got flack about the ridiculousness of his outfit during the judging. I took the query as a joke in light of that previous experience. That being said, I do think that Scott is kind of a tool. In an interview with the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat, Scott made the kind of comment about Adam's AMA performance that always made me see red: I'll admit it isn't necessarily a diss, but it isn't much of a defense, either, given the fact that there was such criticism of Adam not just as a performer, but as a person. When comments are flying around about him being a deviant, being sick, pushing his "gay" in everyone's faces, and so on, saying "That's who he was all along" raises my hackles a bit.

Thanks Bocababe.....I had completely forgotten that. I knew there had to be a reason and that makes complete sense. fun revisiting the idol journey on slow day....watching One now....:-)

Lol I thought photoshop, then, oh yeah. At second glance, I didn't think the Atop headline was photoshopped.

Am I the only one that missed that....we discussed at great length Gokey and his families attitudes and the 'conversion' of Sarver but this comment -- not so much. JS... Adam said that there was one of the 13 AI8 finalists that he did not get along with. He affirmatively said he was not referring to Danny. In 2009, many Adam watchers (including me) concluded he must have been referring to Scott. Scott was raised and is an active member of Scottsdale Bible Church which preaches that the Bible is the literally word of God. "What We Believe Scripture We believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testament as being verbally and completely inerrant in the original writings and of supreme and final authority in faith and life." Link: scottsdalebible.com/about/what-we-believeSo this church is one that believe in all of the commandments in the Torah/Old Testament -- well I think they shave, wear blended fiber fabrics and eat ham and cheese sandwiches but do believe in that no homosexuality part. (See the 613 commandments for more info on selective literalism). As far as I can determine, Scott was the only literalistic Christian on AI8 and would not have been open to accepting Adam's non-Christian views or sexual orientation. And since he still belongs to this church, seems likely that he was the one who Adam did not get along with.

I am so over that AI8 group of people. I don't expect them to constantly talk up Adam but a little support from them now and again would be nice. After all he is the most successful of them all including Kris. Except of course Michael Sarver. Seems like the rest have kind of vanished. As far as Scott is concerned I have a hard time with people who think you can choose the scripture to follow and what you can ignore. :

I don't know him or follow him, but I've seen enough of his tweets retweeted on my feed to really dislike his use of twitter. What an ass!!! I was never a fan of Scott but being that he is blind and needs help with color choices, I think asking for no pink is OK. My hubby is not homophobic at all but still thinks of pink as a girl color. ETA: I completely agree that Scott was the one Adam didn't get along with. But, I don't think Adam was the only one. I think Scott had and still has a VERY high opinion of himself. His ego may have just been too much for the others. Also, with Scott's brother being with him every step of the way, including on tour, perhaps this inadvertaenty isolated him from the others. His ego was always a big putoff for me!
