Since we're tlking about the Memphis Idol concert, here's the pic I tweeted from the After Party that night. These are Kris' brothers friends. Maybe one of them IS Kris' brother? Can't remember. Isn't this picture from Little Rock? The Idols left Memphis right after the concert to catch a plane to Tampa, Florida. No time for any after concert signing at Memphis. Tampa was were the stalker stuff happened -- started the same night -- early in the morning actually.

I actually do prefer The Voice over Idol, for all the reasons mentioned in that article. I can't even bribe my husband and son to watch Idol, but they both really got into The Voice. The contestants are better, the music more interesting, the mentoring really works. We'll see if our interest is sustained through another season, though. And who knows if the winner will be successful? Even Idol can't guarantee that, emotional connection or no... I agree. I prefer The Voice over Idol BUT after a few weeks I stopped watching The Voice because I really didn't care about anyone. I just didn't connect with anyone. I guess I am spoiled. "Mama.........." "Mama...." *sigh* The only time I ever got emotionally involved. The only time it was worth it.

I've liked a lot of performers, but you really can see how rare that emotional connection is. Once all is said and done, I like the person, but it doesn't come close to the level of attachment I have had to Adam from the beginning. And it has not waned in 2.6 years and counting ... I also totally agree that's one of the things lacking with The Voice – they have stronger talent, etc., but there is no time to get connected before people are cut.

Q3- you said on page one that the info was that Adam's new album will be more Pop? Where is this coming from? With the collaborations with Nikka and Sia it doesn't seem this way. Where have you heard different? Sorry to be so far behind. Two good sources assure me it is not rock music. RCA listed the album as genre: Pop. This could just be a placeholder since it is the preliminary listing. No sign by collaborators that he is recording rock music and he is not working the any of the big rock producers. Adam went to Miami to record. People go to Miami to record dance-pop and urban fusion. Nikka Costa -- is a multi-genre artist but does very little rock. Soul, Funk, Jazz influenced pop music is were most of her recent work falls. Adam is not likely to do Soul music, but Funk and Jazz edged pop make sense. More likely to do blues edged pop. Sia - is also a multi-genre artist but not rock. Wiki list her as "Dance-pop, soul jazz, acid jazz, trip hop"; her press sheet says "dance pop". There are no rock collaborators on this album that I can think of.

For the album I want what's current and fresh. I'm getting REALLY excited about this album!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Throwing out a topic of discussion. I was over at another site--ONTD to be exact--and was reading some post about how Britney may switch from Jive to RCA after her next album or something. Of course most of the commenters were all ZOMG NOO!! RCA SUX!!--which, yeah, is not a new sentiment at all. But a lot of them were bemoaning how RCA screwed over (in their opinion) Kelly and Avril and Christina and their albums. So this made me wonder....is RCA a legitimately crappy label, pretty standard label and these were just examples of "shit happens", or they handle male artists better than female artists, or insert other option here. Not trying to start a tirade on RCA--I am pretty neutral on the matter seeing as how I am not a musical expert here--but I am just curious what the concensus was. I know the concensus at other sites and didn't know if this is a legitimate claim or just bias against RCA due to someone's faves not doing so well. And pretty sure this is OT since it relates to any issues Adam may have or not have with #2. According to leaks in the business and music industry trade press, when Sony splits up RCA/Jive record group, some acts will move to RCA and the most mentioned artist who would move is Britney. RCA is one of the better labels and the US Sony label that is set up to handle big-budget international acts. Jive's strength was putting out albums on a budget and breaking young artists. They lost their way about 5 years ago. Now they will just fold Jive artists and the best of their staff into Arista. They have to consolidate because there is less money to go around. ETA: And for the important stuff ---- RCA is a very good label for Adam. I cannot think of anywhere better for him to be signed.

Sam Harris (of Star Search fame) posted the original of this video on his YouTube channel in April 2009 (part of it's his vlog). Don't know why it didn't come to light earlier. They start talking about Adam at 18:00. I stumbled across Sam's vlog while searching for Adam videos two years ago. This is the one I saw then. Brief Adam mention at 21:28 For those of you who love Adam's Upright Cabaret performances, try Sam Harris's "I Can't Make You Love Me." Get the tissues first. Great musical theater-style voice. (For some reason, this won't embed.) www.youtube.com/user/SamHarrisCOM#p/u/1/XBm3E55Lspk
