Where do we begin? I believe that the events of the past week are part of a new racial/social revolution in America. Things will NEVER be the same after this week. Racism in America is so imbedded, so deep, so old, so entrenched. The Civil Rights movement of the 1960s and its resulting legislation was certainly a triumph. But laws can only do so much. It's obvious that hearts and minds cannot be changed with the enactment of laws. At various times in our history, Black Americans have been enslaved, lynched, tortured, segregated educationally, isolated geographically by many factors including immoral real estates practices, marginalized by generations of gang activity in urban areas, treated as less human, less intelligent, less trustworthy than a white person. And on and on and on. There are countless reasons why African Americans are angry. We may no longer have Jim Crow laws, but we still have blatant, unapologetic racism in our country. The frustration and fear and outrage from the black community is beyond justified. This is such a complicated stew of issues: criminal justice, police activity, gun control, the NRA, political grandstanding, blatant murder on every racial side, despair, hopelessness, poverty. It's an endless list, so entrenched in our culture. "The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave" has a lot of work to do.

shoshanna stone @shoshannastone Half a million views in 3 days on a visual film. Wow @adamlambert I've been viewing WTTS as much as I can. Who would have thought that this song, sort of used for a sports voice-over, really has emerged as the song it was MEANT to be: a song of empowerment and honesty. And it seems that there is some spill-over to Adam's older music, such as WWFM. Isn't it cool how this all works together? WTTS isn't really a "single" to be promoted, but it sure has made an impact. Hope it grows and lasts. It's a relevant message, for sure, in so many ways.

In yesterday's thread saraswati wished for an Adam art exhibit. There is just such a thing right here at Adamtopia! And it's HUGE! A lot of us congregate at the news thread, but there are other gems here as well. On the Home Page scroll down to Adam Salon > Adam Art Gallery. Something to do during the upcoming (we think) quiet spell... www.adamtopia.com/board/16/adamtopia-art-gallery

ThinkYouKnowMusic @thinkyouknowmus Music News ! Adam Lambert’s @adamlambert Dramatic New Video Dares You To Be Entirely Yourself ! goo.gl/lyBzo2www.facebook.com/ThinkYouKnowMusic/posts/734337290037709Music News ! Adam Lambert’s Dramatic New Video Dares You To Be Entirely Yourself ! It’s a good day to be a Glambert. Adam Lambert fans have already gotten to hear his stunning contribution to “Hands,” a new star-studded Orlando tribute song. Now, the singer has surprised fans with a new music video for “Welcome to the Show” nearly four months after the song first premiered. The confident ballad finds Lambert wearing his vulnerability on his sleeve as he duets with Swedish singer-songwriter Laleh. The accompanying video (co-directed by Lambert and photographer Lee Cherry) is shot mostly in black and white with brief, kaleidoscopic flares of color, before everything starts bursting with bright hues at the song’s climax. In an introspective letter for Flaunt, Lambert explained that the song and video are all about celebrating individuality and daring people to be entirely themselves. “‘Welcome To The Show’ is an anthem about facing exactly who you are and OWNING it. It’s intended as a mantra to inspire strength and PRIDE,” he wrote. “I want you to keep celebrating exactly who you are, even if you don’t fit into the worlds ideas of what they think you should be,” he continued. “Take your flaws in stride, nurture your talents, take pride in your Queerness, and share all the love you have.”

Hmm guess she is heading there with Adam being home. Some promo for something? twitter.com/shoshannastone/status/752176917114155008shoshanna stone @shoshannastone LA bound When is he ever going to have some time off? Doesn't necessary mean it's for Adam though, but the timing seems right. Maybe the plans for WTTS will unfold?
