Wish RCA would shell out the cash for Adam like Gaga and plaster him all over the NY subway system. That would be the ultimate promo IMO.

IKR?? Sauli got what he wished for! I've thought of this a few times but always when away from computer. Did Neil ever actually meet Sauli? It runs in my mind that he was gone before Sauli came to US. Don't remember if there was a rumor Neil had gone to Paris for a few days too, so maybe met then, but before things got serious. Anyway, don't know where Neil's been staying in LA, but thought how bizarre it would be if Adam in studio and Sauli takes cab to Adam's place and has to bond with Neil unassisted. Poor baby.

Thanks, Q3, for the Neil stories. I must say I've always thought well of him--on the whole I think he's handled this whole crazy situation remarkably well, whilst staying true to his personal instincts.
Re: Adam and Sauli/Adam on the road: I agree with what most of you have said--I'm not worried about Adam's slipping up/cheating. As SusieFierce said, I think he's pretty much answered the question of what kind of romantic action interests him right now. Also, the answer is in Sauli's own account, per Zinnia's translation (thanks, Zinnia!): "I wouldn’t even start a relationship if I didn’t trust the other person." It wouldn't occur to me not to trust my husband if he were on the road for five months. If I didn't trust him on that, I wouldn't want to be with him in the first place. Cheating happens, I know, but in a serious, committed relationship I would worry only about an external friendship where feelings develop, despite the best of intentions, into something more, not about quick-fix cheating on the road. The former can happen even to a strong, loving, honest partner; the latter, no way, and I don't see it happening with Adam, either.
But that's not to say that that kind of separation doesn't put a strain on the relationship even without trust issues. I've been there. We've done the long distance thing for long stretches, and it is hard as hell. And it's not so much a matter of missing the other person terribly as it is of slowly not missing the other person enough, despite how much you love them, as your lives become filled with things completely disconnected from your partner. (Can you tell I'm one of the rare lovers of "A Loaded Smile"?) Absence does not make the heart grow fonder--that's just a nasty rumor. That distance--that emotional distance--can be hard to bridge over the phone. But Sauli and Adam are both confident, independent people, and easy, warm communicators, and I'm sure, if they want to, they can handle it. This is a situation in which being positive, and effusive, and naturally warm, can turn a phone line into a life line. Plus, it really helps a whole lot that Adam is a man of means. If he wants to fly Sauli out on a whim, he just does it. That can make all the difference in the world.

Wonder how much it would cost to wrap city buses in cover of Adam #2? Major cities.....great advertising!!!!!! Did a little Google research and it was hard to find straight rates (they prefer to quote for exact scenario). I did find this link, but it's from Lafayette, Indiana www.gocitybus.com/advwholebus.htmlThey require an initial 12-month commitment (probably not the case in NY, etc.) and rates start at $1,250; quite reasonable.

Zinnia Thanks so much for bringing over the Sauli interview. I love the way the universe is manifesting for both of them. I must admit I didn't expect this love affair to happen right now.... but am so happy that it did and hope it's long lasting, if that's what they both want. Regarding his emphasis on "cheating" and intolerance for it, perhaps it might be advisable IMHO for Sauli to go on the road with Adam for this next tour (if they're still an item a yr from now lol), maybe take over Neil's job or manage the merchandise (both of which need improvement). There seems to be so many opportunities and temptations living the "rak stah" lifestyle and Sauli being there might help with that. It kinda reminds me of Elvis and all his hook-ups on the road while Priscilla was at home with Lisa Marie(although it's understandable staying at home when you have a baby). I remember Melanie Griffith stating that when Antonio Banderas was filming "Original Sin" with Angelina Jolie, that she was on the set every minute of every day to eliminate that temptation. Lol. Gotta have trust and commitment. Adam is loyal, and I suspect he would never cheat. Melanie Griffith has drug and alcohol issues and Antonio Banderas has stayed by her side thru thick and thin. I think her insecurities are manifesting themselves. Besides many of his fans are women, who would love to hook up, but have zero chance. His pickups have been at after parties and bars, IMHO ecasue he was looking. He can always fly Sauli in for a quickie. 8-) 8-) I laughed out loud and showed your post to my husband, who immediately denied that was ever, ever, ever his intention when I got a last minute airline ticket. Yeah! Next time he's on the road, maybe I'll send HIM a ticket to come home for a romantic evening or two, avoiding the "quickie" designation. I'm all about equality ! Ha Ha.

I don't want to spam, but on my way out the door want to contribute something to #2 ad campaign in spite of not being a marketing guru as some of you are. Charity Water should do a float in the Macy's parade (do they still have floats?) and have celebrities (or just Adam) who have encouraged donations. I'm sure Will and Jada Smith and their kids would love to be part of it. Orrrrrrrrrrrrr, some sort of Charity Water segment during Super Bowl halftime with lots of kids who were being helped and Adam singing an appropriate song, hopefully one from #2. That way, he gets national exposure, even though not when album being released, sings at SB, but not necessarily football related. But still want Susie's 10 story Adam picture in Times Square ! Since I'm trying to sound wholesome I won't even comment on Chunkey's sex tape idea but

I used to buy these -- well my staff did -- they are very affordable and excellent in LA, SF, NY, CHI because they get a lot of viewership. But really not very targeted approach to media buying. Best for marketing mass products and public service messages. They have been used in LA for major movie releases on the routes that go thru the westside -- sort of targeted. Cool as they are, I never had much luck with them -- meaning they have very low recall in post-campaign research. But I have not used is a similar campaign.

Interesting, Q3, that these are not effective... all I know is that Gaga's face is staring at me from everywhere in NYC: every bus stop, every display...I am frankly sick and tired of looking at her... I want BB there... badly...

I would think that this type of promo would make people aware of a current artists CD being available...
I too am sick of seeing Gaga everywhere.. you can't get away from it. I think I would feel differently about her, if she wasn't hitting us over the head with how important her music is..js
