I have no problem with Sherrie getting tweeted by Adam. I was just trying to explain what I believed was happening.
I do think that Sherrie promotion is different than DonorsChoose.org promotion --- Just speaking for myself, I want Adam to get recognition for inspiring fans to give to Donors.Choose.org and I want a light shined on DonorsChoose.org because it is a great cause. I do not need to see my name recognized. So I do not think this is the same as what Sherrie does when she does her campaigns which she does very publicly -- just as easily could be anonymous.
Finally, Adam's sales are so high that even if Sherrie bought 10,000 WWFM tracks it is a drop in the bucket. It takes a million committed fans to make a star, not a few rich fans. If fans ever think that they are insignificant and their 1 track purchase or concert ticket or vote or tweet doesn't matter, that will be the end of Adam. So as I said, I have no issue with Sherrie but I am also no more impressed by people who have a lot of money making donations or supporting what they believe in, than I am by someone who donates a little because that is all they can afford.

I think Sherrie is a victim of tall poppy syndrome. You know the rich and affluent are damned if they do and damned if they don't. I don't remember Sherrie willingly going public, it seems to me she was outed about her gifting by people trying to make something negative about it. She was accused of having some ulterior motive because she was not open about it so now that she is open she is still accused of ulterior motives. It's like all the idiots that tell Bono he should shut up and put his money where his mouth is. U2 is not public about the majority of their charitable giving because they feel that when it is public it becomes advertising. But they are criticized for not giving enough because they won't discuss it. There are many who want to defend them and want them to defend themselves but it really wouldn't matter because if they did go public with what they do they would be accused of using that to score points. If you become rich and then try to spend money on your friends you are accused of showing off and lording it over people but if you don't spend money on them you are accused of being Mr. Scrooge. I personally haven't seen anything indicating that Sherrie has acted like an entitled fan. If there is concrete evidence of something I missed then please enlighten me. As for fans being chosen to be mods, well there will always be someone who isn't happy with who is chosen or why. Nobody is going to be accepted without complaint. There were even people bitching about Leila being involved in the fan club for god sakes. Lord almighty, people complained about Leila!! That makes no sense to me.

I had this YT page open and just finished listening to this Adam interview on Q TV.
On 16.32 Adam talked about Justin Timberlake suggested him to re-create Freddie's stuff without copying and re-doing it and put his own spin on it. I'm not saying he should do it next year but if he decided to do it in a few years or if he could do it while the two Queen members still alive & work together that would be SOOO GREAT! Q, the interviewer said he should do it coz Adam is one of the FEW people in the world who could. And he definitely is!!! :D

Lisapf, I love your avi too and it seems all-so familiar for me, it's my phone wallpaper, so I see it every time I check my phone. My feelings about Sherrie are conflicted; I truly see both sides. First of all, I DO think she's sincere in what she does and it's admirable. However, I can see how it does smack of "buying your way in" to the inner-sanctum. Therefore those with means get preferential treatment. And yes, that's frustrating for many who have supported in every other way except that level of straight-up financial. Then again, there have been wealthy benefactors to the arts for as long as there have been artists. It's nothing new. We may have never heard of Monet or Picasso if they didn't have sponsors who believed in them (just picked random artist's names, don't know if they actually were sponsored), so YAAY for people with means using their money to help artists get to the next level or survive while they create. Should they get more public recognition than the other fans who have been supporting tirelessly since day one? I don't know. I think a birthday DM might have been the better way to go in this situation. You're right about the DM - it would have caused a lot less grief for both of them. One thing that tweet told me is that Sherrie must not have seen Adam while in LA. I know she was seeing some of the artists. Tommy, Monte and Cassidy on Friday night? Can't remember. I assume if she'd seen Adam in person, he would have probably said Happy Birthday to her then. This, of course, is just a guess. I have no idea who she's seen in person while there.

Envy has to be one of the most soul-sucking emotions out there and I am as guilty of it as anyone but when I recognize it in myself, I mentally put the brakes on as fast as I am able. What Dr. Ritchie does is called patronage. She is a patron of the arts and her money gives her access. She would not extend that patronage to Adam and company if she were not a fan. That's just the way it is. When you donate small amounts to your local/national political candidate you are promoting a cause you believe in but don't expect that Senator or representative to come knocking on your door. If you donate a lot of money, you expect a dinner or event or handshake. If you donate a shitload of money .... we're talking subsidies or ambassadorships! Now on to more important matters, pudding is still cooling off but the potato salad and bison chili dogs were great! Well said my friend !!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, honestly, how many of us, if we had the $$$, wouldn't do exactly what Sherrie has done? And, it's not like she is just doing it for Adam. As many have said, she is an Artist Supporter. She's a big fan...and, of course, we all are.
Is Adam sending her a Bday greeting really that big of a deal? I mean, he's casually tweeted random fans more than once, including our own NoAngel. (WOOTTTTTTT) !!!
In my opinion, nope. But, everyone has their own opinion, and I totally respect that too.
I just don't think it's that important. I don't get the hate, but then, I don't get a lot of things...lmao!! This is my first time *stanning the man* EVAH!!
And, I'm lovin' every minute of it, be it good or bad. I'm here to stay!!
