That's becasue you have been there forever ;D ;D New employees only get 10 days, which is 2 weeks. After 5 years you get 3weeks or 15 days, then you start accruing slowly Needacoke you got it so good gurl!!!!!!!! True. This is how it works: New employee - 4 hours per 2-week pay period X 26 = 13 8-hour days off After 3 years - 6 hours After 15 years - 8 hours Forever - 4 hours sick leave every 2 weeks = 13 8-hour days a year I think we get 11 paid holidays and occasionally the president will give an extra day off at Christmas - usually if Christmas eve is on a Monday. We also get paid leave if we can't work - weather, etc. Got paid for a week when the electricity was out after the tornados. Wow, even better ;D ;D ;D

Holy cow, Q3, that is a PRODUCTION!!! I come from a family that can throw a theme party, but that is HUGE! Regarding vacation; yes, it is limited here. The reason my family/friends decided to celebrate yesterday is because 6:00 a.m. on July 5 comes all too quickly after a day/night of partying and it starts all over again. We decided to have a day of recovery where we don't have to drive, park, etc. would work best. We had a nice time yesterday. Fortunately, I can see fireworks from my front yard. Regarding vacation, yeah, it's a little ridiculous. I am taking a day off here and there, but not any week-long thing. Fortunately, our company is now closing the week between Christmas and New Year's (that is a new thing) with pay and it's awesome. (Of course, it's in lieu of pay raises and a cost-cutting measure.) It's a ridiculous time to be open anyway because no one else is, so you can't really do anything because the rest of the world is off. You send an email ... *crickets* You leave a voicemail ... And all week you're thinking, "Why am I here again?" Government employees do generally get much more time off than private-sector employees.

I don't have holiday yet myself as I'm a student. This summer I don't have a job as I'm working on my written work. I don't know what it is in English, but it's the written work I have to complete to get the lowest university degree (not master's theses yet). jojo, if you mean "kandi", it's bachelor of... e.g. LuK = bachelor of science. Yes bachelor of science. Thanks.

Happy 4th! Oh, how I love 3-day weekends! I have such fond memories of the 4th of July. I loved the parades, especially the feeling of the drums in my belly when the bands would march by. One year, my brother and I dressed up and paraded around the neighborhood with our toy drums! In high school, we pulled an old buggy with a 12-legged horse consisting of several boys draped in a sheet while the girls (in disguise) played kazoos in the buggy. Whatever happened to my inner ham? I've always loved fireworks! I plan to step outside my door tonight and watch the town fireworks. I'm excited about living close enough this year. It's a plus not to have to get in the car and try to park somewhere. I'm also going to make dark chocolate sherbet. Yum! I'm envious of countries who value rest for the working people. We're seriously lacking in that area. We recently received notice of furlough days so I'll be guaranteed one 3-day weekend each month (without pay unfortunately). The first thing I thought of was how am I going to fund Adam's next tour! I comforted myself in thinking I'll find a second job if I have to. I'm serious. It's that important to me! Of course, everyone here understands that. Even though it's a little fuzzy, that pic from last night is gorgeous as usual. Well, off to begin my sherbet!

Adam will never and I mean never sing the type of stuff John Mayer or other WGWGs sing! He isn't capable of being so bland!

On my 4th of July fiesta ---
Pretty low key for me now that the planning is done. I used to do most of the work myself for these kind of events. Now I organize and supervise it -- and make the BBQ and drinks. Most the hard work was done last week or yesterday. And clams are now in the pit, so little left to cook.
I wish I would have realized about 20 years ago how much people with do if you just ask. I am not a fan of pop lucks but I do like assigned dinners with many, many cooks and workers.
In any case, no pots or pans for this meal -- 6 hours and counting.

Jojo, YW. This vacation topic is really interesting! Thanks Jojo for starting it. Yes the topic has been very interesting ;D. Also I would find any insight if Adam has time to have a holiday before the promotional work starts interesting too? How does the process work? Is he still going to be working on the record when they start with the first single? What has to be done if the first single is released in August and at what stage should he be now with the record so that is possible?

The single that will be released in August-September could already be done. But Adam is clearly still working on the album. They were still writing songs last week. So looks like no long vacation for Adam and Sauli. But Adam has always put in vacations -- and I am sure he will do it again.
