Finally, RL has given me a break, here's my QAL BKK recap - mods, pls move to appropriate thread, hope to add pics Part1-feel free to scroll 😜 Our (DD's and my) journey started with a rather nervous purchase of tickets. Even at that first hour, most of the VIP floor seats were gone, we wanted the barrier seats where Adam was likely to come down during Radio Gaga. At that time, the ticket site said VIP seats had access to F&B bar and choice of 1 merch. We opted to get the next tier tickets which were on the bleachers since we anticipated people couldn't help but dance/sing and that would block our view on the floor. The on-stage VVIP tickets were announced much later, and anyway my DD said we probably couldn't restrain ourselves either from singing/dancing and that would be too embarrassing on stage 👯, especially if the stagehands had to do the restraining.😱🙃
Our hotel manager advised us to leave for Impact Arena early, since concert day was a Friday and payday and there was the usual BKK traffic. We arrived around 330pm, it was too early! We walked around to check our gates and saw the empty VIP lounges, the merch stand said they would open at 4pm. While walking around, we heard what DD thought was QAL music being streamed but it was clearly soundcheck which a staff confirmed. With WWTLF. I knew Adam's voice would be great and powerful and controlled but I didn't expect it to be that pure. I couldn't record clearly because down the walkway a local band commissioned by the event's beer company partner was performing Queen and other rock songs. We tried to get as near to the source as possible but then it started to rain with matching thunder and lightning! 🌩⚡️so we tweeted Adam that thunderbolt and lightning won't stop us now!! lol
We went for a snack and then early dinner, we couldn't find a lounge or spa in the building to while away our time. People started to trickle in before 6pm. Our gate was near the ticket booth, some 15 people were lined up. Overall crowd was a mix of expats and locals and from my limited view, mainly over 20 yo crowd though a couple of expats had their below 10 yo kids.

Just wondering what the sound to his next album be. Of course Pop. But what specifically. Prob in the same vein as GT. Deep House. But love to see a return to Glam Rock. Some Big Pop Collabs. Like Katy Perry, Pink, or Sam Smith . Some Acoustic Guitar Ballads. But yeah thats what I want to see from Albim 4.

My QAL BKK recap Part2 - feel free to scroll 😅 The gates opened at 730pm and we were first in at ours, checkers didn't ban our cameras and selfie stick, though they kept our water bottles. We had great seats, almost perpendicular to the end of the catwalk and not more than 20ms?? away! I think I saw Pete Malandrino talking to a crew on stage and looking over at the early crowd. At 830pm, the scheduled start, the arena was not full, esp the far bleachers. The crowd started to whistle, wave, clap and do the WWRY stomp. In our zone, we were surrounded by expats. I told DD it would only really start when they show the video of Adam, Dr Bri walking from backstage. Finally it started at 9pm. Since I sort of knew the setlist and overall "routine," I feared I would be stuck at a cerebral level and not fully immerse in the experience. But I vowed to at least memorize the first line of SSR. So when the curtain lifted, there was a collective gasp and DD and I jumped at the first note! I was engulfed by the bright, so very clear lights, Adam's presence and Queen's eternal music. Sorry to the 2 British gentlemen to our left, we couldn't help ourselves. Everyone I could see was dancing and/or singing, I think also helped by the beer. Perhaps Adam saw this was a mainly adult crowd, he was playful and sexy with the mic and mic stand and his word play on "Bangkok." It was so funny to watch what he did with the stage fan-wind machine. I think there was a similar discussion here on how prepared he is for a performance now; may I agree that it was a delightful mix of the studied and the spontaneous.
After a set of songs, DD and I told each other to sit out the next songs so we could rest our voices. But the band came out with AOBTD, which was our favorite fast song, so we jumped right back and sang louder lol!
I am sorry, Seoulmate and other Dr. Bri stans, I also love him to bits like I do Adam. Roger is a handsome beast. DD was rooting-hooting for Rufus.
Dr. Bri introduced Adam as the "young man," no longer the new guy and people cheered. I'm not sure how long average time is before the band comes back for the encore, but it seemed interminable to us, the crowd.
After the band exit around 11pm, we took more pictures, including with Japanese Freddie and the sad load-out. The VIP floor was wet with beer. The local band started singing Queen songs again as the spirited crowd poured out. There was a small brawl among some teens in the parking lot and that distracted people looking for a cab back to BKK so we managed to get a ride easier than expected. Off to the skybar for the postmortem.
Next day, our hotel manager asked about the concert and we said it was great but not sold out we think. He thought the tickets were expensive esp for locals and was not sure how popular Queen is in Thailand. A funny event-when a cab driver asked us why we were in BKK, we said to watch Queen but we took some time to explain before he understood it was a band and not Her Royal Highness, the wife of the Thai king.
As our common affliction, hope to see QAL again!

So happy for you and your daughter that you had such a great time at the concert! (And the story of the cab driver who thought of the wrong "Queen" made me LOL!!!)
