Bringing the conversation over here from yesterday... I think I read that Amalia has taken singing lessons. Adam at her age, and even younger, did too. He has said that his teacher had exposed him to all the greats and big book singers. Also the Broadway show singers. I feel that maybe that is why he felt confident to ask Amalia if she had heard of Billie Holiday or Etta James. A good vocal coach would have referenced them both to a young singer. If you are taking vocal lessons, they are not going to only teach you about great singers that are exclusive to only your country. How would that work?? Sure she would know Kylie, being an Aussie, but there are so many more styles to learn too. Currant as well as classic. I am really surprised though, that she didn't know at least Madonna. Poor Adam. lol He looked shocked. He is doing such a great mentoring job. He is polishing Isaiah and Amalia really nicely. What even happens to them, I feel that they will be in a better and wiser place to face the industry if they choose to pursue it. FWIW, it annoyed me that Iggy sided with Beatz and Vlado got through. Vlado, imo doesn't even have the X factor. He has 12 year old girls that can vote fast. lol And are we supposed to feel bad that he gets trolled on social media? That is the funniest sympathy ploy ever. Just put your phone down Vlado. hahaha What's popular in America doesn't necessarily popular in other countries/ in the world. And what hugely popular in Australia/Asia/ Europe, people in US don't always hear about it. So there, we need to stop thinking that just because these singers popular in the US they don't always are in other continents. And I don't know what kind of vocal lessons she's taking, maybe more to classical. And I don't surprise why Iggy sided with Beatz, a week prior when Beatz and Aya were in the bottom two. Adam sided with voice (AYA) as always (Adam has been criticizing Beats for their singing). And last week Guy sided with Beatz and he let it go to deadlock. And this week Guy called Iggy "stupid" for doing the same thing? I mean I'm not a fan of Iggy but that's just rude. I see your point....but you are missing mine. I am not speaking to only US singers. A good vocal coach would expose their students to ALL great singers. Their country of origin does not matter. Adam has referenced Shirley Bassey and she is Welsh. If you think that Amalia has maybe studied classical music, and we have no way of knowing that she has, it would be very difficult to not teach her technique by Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, or Bocelli who clearly are not from the US. Even Bjork is considered classical and she is from Iceland. It seems to me that you are making this US centric. I am not. Singing lessons are not just about students learning what to do with their voice. There is also theory and book knowledge. Showing the students a wide range of voices and style help to define and be free to create their own style. You might go to lessons thinking your voice is suited to a particular style and end up someplace completely different. A wide exposure to many singers, US or globally just makes sense to round you out. I stand with Guy that Iggy was stupid. You think that he was rude? Have you seen how Iggy has treated him? X Factor imo blew it by having her as a judge. She was a complete waste of time. Most horrible judge I have ever witnessed on one of these type of shows. Guy forcing that deadlock was the right thing to do as far as I'm concerned.

Adam really does reach into a hug, doesn't he. ![](http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/Quu3/Adam%20Smilys/Other%20Smileys/wub.gif) Sexy Adam .... I would never get back to sleep! Sexy Adam on a webcam .... I would never have a life again :D Still hoping that one day I'll be able to experience one of those wonderful hugs myself.

Allrighty, politics. I'm running blue for a state house seat. However since I'm in a very red district in a very red state I have no chance of getting in. It will be interesting however to see how the vote comes in for my district and I'll be looking at what they call ticket splitters. Those who voted different party for the national races than they do for the state or local. Remember how Adam and Kris didn't even have twitter accounts until after Idol? Kris was right to call twitter the devil but Facebook is what's really unsettling. Probably because you see all your relatives in a completely new light. I'm trying to thumbs up those posts that I can and ignore posts that rattle my teeth. I tried my best snark in responding to a cousin who dissed me on a news article. I've typed and erased many a post asking some inlaws if other inlaws are still talking to them after what they say about #blacklivesmatter. Family reunions used to be easier when you discovered after the fact that someone voted the other way, but now you know they didn't just vote that way, they actually acted that way. In my immediate family we call it the Star Trek alternate universe phenomenon and we will sometimes venture over to the alternate reality tv station or scroll through facebook replies. It is just so startling how the same events can be seen not with just a tilt but an absolute 180 view. It's such a weird juxtaposition to have both sides concerned about the constitution and democracy and yet see diametrically opposite causes and solutions and of course mortal enemies. My normally "whatever" DH is glued to the news and as a student of history sees all these correlations to the past and especially to Hitler and is breathing more "be prepared for anarchy" vibes than my prepper dad who is now visiting with us just in time for the election. So yeah, now we've got a divided household to watch the returns come in. Fun times. Running for office is a huge personal and financial commitment, I wish you the very best results today and thanks for stepping up.
