I agree.. I personally found Raise Your Glass to be the best of this type of song to come out. I don't think Adam will do another one that is so blatant. He has sort of been there and done that with Aftermath. I would anticipate that if he does something similar in topic it would be more universal such as the ones you list.. rather than Gaga's song.

OT, This might be considered as a controversial opinion, hope that this is offensive cause not meant to be at all. I was discussing with someone, some time ago, on MJ's about songs for Adam next album. Someone said that they hope that Adam doesn't have too many "gay" themed songs on his second album, and I initially agreed with them, as in saying it's alright if there's a few songs that touches on certain topics, but if it's too much of the same, it can become a bit preachy. This reaction came about, from listening to songs that suppose to be, well sort of, gay anthems and the such all seem to be pretty trite, with cliched, bad lyrics as in Ke$has We R who we R and Katy Perry's Firework, or preachy ie. Gaga's BTW, or labeling themselves as freaks as in Pink's and they all seem to have this whole thing with labeling those in this community as freaks, or being outrageous and outsiders; even Adam's aftermath, as much as I can cry listening to the acoustic version, and feel elated joy with the remix, the lyrics do seem a bit cliched and cheesy at times. But was just thinking today that it'll be great if he could have some empowerment songs, or songs that make you feel proud, or even others that aren't in the same to feel the same or to even want something better for them as well. Some thoughts: I never thought of Kesha's 'We R Who We R' as any kind of gay empowerment anthem. Or really any kind of empowerment anthem at all. I always thought it just got lumped in there unfairly. I mean it's about going out and partying. The lyrics are "we're dancing like we're dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb, our bodies going numb numb numb, we'll be forever young young" and "DJ turn it up up up up up up up" and "we make the hipsters fall in love when we got our hot pants on and up" etc etc etc. I don't see anywhere in that song that says anything about accepting your gayness or anything about empowerment. IMO it's blatantly about getting drunk and being crazy and making no apologies about it. YMMV. As for Firework, that at least has a little more of a broad "acceptance" message that applies to gays and non gays so it's not as pandering as some songs (besides, who HASN'T felt like a plastic bag drifting in the wind? Amirite? LOL). BTW however is the tritest of the trite and tries to be everything to everyone while being the gayest gay anthem that ever shot out of a rainbow or something. I personally don't have a problem with acceptance anthems, but the lyrics have to be genuine and the song just has to be good. Cholas and orients? Subway kids embrace your truth? If Adam has anything remotely near that in his songs I will barf. LMAO. But hopefully the whole wave of acceptance songs coming to an end, because when Selena Gomez tries to get you to accept yourself by singing "nah nah nah nah nah nah nah nah" a hundred times then you know the trend is on it's last legs. LOL. I don't care if Adam has any empowerment songs or not, I just want the songs to be GOOD. I want to shake my ass. I want work out songs. I want the vocals to be on point and not drowned out by outdated or bandzilla like production. As for "too gay" well that's in the eye of the beholder. Whatever he sings could be deemed as "too gay" simply because a gay man is singing them. Obviously we want him to have mainstream success, and unfortunately that means not squicking out the homophobes with TEH GHEY, but we also want him to remain true to himself. It's a tight rope walk he needs to do between commercial music and music that is him. I trust he can do it. And if people still think it's too gay well then they can fuck off. LOL

starlyyte LizMarie @adamlambert touching compliment by @ohferras as he performs Aftermath in NYC 7/9 www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjV5fFMvhbg #thekeyofsatan11 hours ago Uploaded by TALCvids on Jul 11, 2011 I think this is amazing. I wish I could get it from itunes. I actually prefer it to any rendition of Adam's! (runs for cover) not bad, but (IMO) it doesn't hold a candle to Adam's acoustic version ;D

Yeah Kesha's song wasn't really an empowerment anthem, gay or otherwise, even though she said it was.
I think one of the things that I love the most about is, that he is an obviously out and proud gay man, but he doesn't feel the need to stand on his soapbox all the time yelling it from the rooftops, nor does he goes ahead and try to tone down all the OTT makeup, and clothes, and all the things that are "stereotypically" gay just to fit in better with people ideals of how he suppose to be.
Love the fact that he is just..who he is, his own individual.
I don't know, I guess I just want an universal empowerment song from Adam, because I'm just thinking of how powerful he made these that he haven't wrote, and feeling how much more meaning it'll have and more powerful it'll be if he had a part in writing it.

When I listened to the acoustic Aftermath (my favorite version of that song) I applied it to some stuff I was going through and found it empowering (and I am a straight woman (as far as I know) so maybe empowerment is in the ear of the listener ? 8-)
