Adam (along with every pop diva/divo) owes Madonna a debt of gratitude. She really is the model for a modern pop star. Adam brings so much more to the mix himself but Madonna was influenced by many subcultures and took underground trends/ideas/artistic expression and brought them into the mainstream for mass consumption. In many ways Adam is doing the same thing -- although IMO with more authenticy. For example, Madonna took voguing from the Harlem House Ball to MTV and into popular culture and she credited the source of her inspiration and the brilliant choreographers. In 1990, I knew a lot of upper middle class, white gay men, but I know nothing of the Ball scene and would really have not known about these amazing dancers, or the desperate situation of minority LBGT teens, without this song. So long before it was cool to support the gay community, Madonna was there. Jose & Luis Xtravaganza and other house children (credited by Madonna for inspiring Vogue) is some old footage: www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2xpTCb9f7MDerrick, Jose & Luis Xtravaganza (2010) www.youtube.com/watch?v=88imiHwHNAk

My two cents on the great Gaga debate. I think she is very talented but she most likely surrounds herself with idiots and syncophants (reading some ontd posts about her creative director Laurianne has been very enlightening) and that could hurt her in the long run if she isn't' careful. And that I would like her a whole lot better if she never ever spoke. LMAO. Ever since this whole mother monster/litte monsters bullshittery took place I cannot bear to listen to her speak without my gag reflex triggering. It very well may be genuine but to me it seems ungenuine and creepy and cult like (lol say what you want abt the 'berts being cult like too, )but if Adam ever started calling himself Master Glambert and acting like you were his minions I would be throwing him major shade as well). Srsly just dump that monster shit, dump the over the top I bleed for my fans and my music comes from God to free the gays pep talks and take the pretension down a few pegs and I could totally appreciate the kick ass chick that's buried underneath a ridiculous costume and an even more ridiculous persona. Oh and no more songs like BTW and Americano please. And we'll be totes cool. Yep. That's not much is it? Lmao Pardon any typos this was typed on my phone bc my pc is getting fixed Yes, exactly! She also really turned me off recently when she refered to "my gays" (as if "my monsters" wasn't bad enough). I'm not part of that group so maybe I shouldn't be offended, but I was thinking that if a guy who was supporting women's causes refered to us as "my women" I would be seriously pissed!

Yes Madonna has had a stellar career Nica and we all wish Adam the same kind of success but I hope fans don't get hung up on that sort of thing. Chasing other people's records seems like a futile endeavor. He will blaze his own trail and set his own records, and in the end I could care less. I just hope he makes music that I love and is successful enough to be able to keep making music for as long as he wants too. Amen Sistah ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I know all of us are fans of great vocals, since we are all here, so enjoy this. GaGa really brings it on this acoustic version of Edge Of Glory from yesterday, and this was at 8am in the morning. The girl is major talented! I loved that.

I thought the Gaga performance that Kanadie posted was fantastic. Thanks for bringing that here. She has a fabulous singing voice when she decides to really use it. I have appreciated her talent the few times I've seen her just sing and play. First time was SNL back a ways. Just am not a fan of the rest of the hype and persona.
