Surprised by the negative comments about not appreciating Madonna when she first became popular -- although I remember many comments at the time that she would fade away. ITA the "boy-toy" image of the first two albums were pretty easy to dismiss except that it was great dance music but by 1986 with "True Blue" she was clearly hear to stay. In a pre-global era, "True Blue" was #1 in 28 countries -- so clearly connected with a lot of people all over the world. Plus TB included "La Isla Bonita" which Gaga semi-covered with Alejandro. So it seems the music is still good enough to get airplay 25 years later -- albeit as an homage. Madonna - eleven studio albums, six compilation albums, three soundtrack albums, three live albums, three extended plays, three remix albums and seventeen box sets. SEVEN Billboard 200 #1 albums, and ELEVEN #1 album in the UK. 75 official singles -- 12 #1 songs in the US. According to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), she is the best-selling female rock artist of the 20th century and the second top-selling female artist in the United States, behind Barbra Streisand, with 64 million certified albums in the US. In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked Madonna at number two, behind only The Beatles, on the Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists, making her the most successful solo artist in the history of the Billboard chart. I really respect what Gaga has done but at least for the foreseeable future Madonna > Gaga IMO. And, since I think Madonna did a really good job with her music and videos, I wish that Gaga would move back to doing her own songs. WOW! Amazing! and I missed all of it... I know how she looks but I have no idea how she sounds... except for Evita (the movie)... :-[thanks to Adam I know how Gaga sounds (not impressed unlike most)... I managed to live completely outside the pop culture world my whole life... so I guess it's not surprising that I have a great difficulty appreciating any of it... I keep trying to follow all Adam's and fan's advises but I rarely can listen to more than 30 secs ... but I am not giving up - I did like Florence's (of the Fl and the Machine) voice, so there is hope Madonna's record makes me "jealous" - I want Adam to have a career like that - adjusted for the current era of course!

Okay Q3 - you got me googled and listening to her songs again now. goshhh.. bring me back to college time again : Btw.. I just realized that one of her dancer (one with darker blue top), has a cooking show in the food channel now about Tuscan's food. This one's her concert just couple of years ago in Romania; she still sounds really good the music video

My two cents on the great Gaga debate. I think she is very talented but she most likely surrounds herself with idiots and syncophants (reading some ontd posts about her creative director Laurianne has been very enlightening) and that could hurt her in the long run if she isn't' careful. And that I would like her a whole lot better if she never ever spoke. LMAO. Ever since this whole mother monster/litte monsters bullshittery took place I cannot bear to listen to her speak without my gag reflex triggering. It very well may be genuine but to me it seems ungenuine and creepy and cult like (lol say what you want abt the 'berts being cult like too, )but if Adam ever started calling himself Master Glambert and acting like you were his minions I would be throwing him major shade as well). Srsly just dump that monster shit, dump the over the top I bleed for my fans and my music comes from God to free the gays pep talks and take the pretension down a few pegs and I could totally appreciate the kick ass chick that's buried underneath a ridiculous costume and an even more ridiculous persona. Oh and no more songs like BTW and Americano please. And we'll be totes cool. Yep. That's not much is it? Lmao Pardon any typos this was typed on my phone bc my pc is getting fixed Pretty much, this. LMAO! She lost me when she said, "I'd rather die that have my fans see me without heels." Really, Steph? That is a life-and-death predicament in your world? I DO think she is extremely talented and I also like her as a person when she drops the persona and is just Stephanie Germanotta, as she's given glimpses of on Oprah, etc. I think what Bridgey said about Madonna giving herself gaps between eras hit the nail on the head. I really think Gaga is in a place where she should just take a long break. Thank her lucky stars this first phase of her career went so well, but don't overstay ... Through social media, she can keep in touch with her fans as maybe she launches some type of nonprofit effort they can participate in and then she can just relax for awhile. When she did that interview saying those prostheses were actually part of her skin, I thought she had lost it completely. She seems to have dialed it back. A bit. Once she's taken a break, she can come back and make incredible music without all the schtick. She can still do incredible theater shows and even do the costumes, etc., without losing her identity. Gaga is a character. We get that. But does she? IDK.

and here's a heart warming video made to The Edge of Glory that the guys on the gay site I am a part of are talking about:
vid description: This video is for everybody. Who has ever loved. And has been loved in return. To those that think it never does or will get better. It does. It does get better, it becomes beautiful.
it's a truly beautiful vid. looks like professional actors.

Adding the word "bullshittery" (c Chunkey) to my lexicon, right underneath the term "fuckity fuck fuck" (c Chippy).

Yes Madonna has had a stellar career Nica and we all wish Adam the same kind of success but I hope fans don't get hung up on that sort of thing. Chasing other people's records seems like a futile endeavor. He will blaze his own trail and set his own records, and in the end I could care less. I just hope he makes music that I love and is successful enough to be able to keep making music for as long as he wants too.
Erm, that was way too earnest for me. Umm let me snark that up by adding...erm...aah..._uhhh...I gots nothing.

Heidi Klum interview contains hints for Adam Lambert, ‘Project Runway’When it comes to talking about Adam Lambert’s oft-rumored (and pretty much close to confirmed) appearance on “Project Runway,” we finally have some more details when it comes to some of your burning questions. For many of them, we turn to show host Heidi Klum — who spoke to USA Today shortly after the Emmy nominations were announced last Thursday to announce just how far along the series was in production: “We have two more weeks to go. We have seven designers left, so we’re down to the wire.” more: cartermatt.com/1581/heidi-klum-interview-contains-hints-for-adam-lambert-project-runway/
