@jscottgofficialj. Scott G. Here's the deal... RCA doesn't get any of the proceeds from this release (because it was written before they... fb.me/Mmyz4ugd Here's the deal... RCA doesn't get any of the proceeds from this release (because it was written before they signed Adam). That's why they're saying to not buy it. Adam actually DOES get proceeds from the release according to the contract that him and I signed last year. Believe what you want... it's still climbing the chart though. #23 today. Woot!
So does that mean Adam gets 50% of all sales of this, as JSG said earlier? Or that Adam and JSG agreed on a amount for the song and it was a one-time bit of money. IDG, I'm still confused, but I don't love the song so I'm not buying it. And I'm sure Adam has no interest in drawing attention to it, when his first official single is so close to release. The only result would be confusion amongst people who don't follow every nuance closely. Whatever, I'll pass. It's just like year, before his debut album coming out. This is only his word that Adam will get 50%. For me the problem is what's the proof that Adam will get 50% and Adam stays quite about this.

I don't feel like I need the details of any of Adam's past business dealings in order to take a cue from him. His tweet said everything I need to know, a certain % does not make it more right or wrong- he signed what he signed, that's none of my business. He said "check it out" so that should be that. I don't feel like this is even the same ballpark as Fake One- not even close. Adam was complicit in this whole endeavor. This song, whether we love it or not, represents a piece of Adam history which he was participating in of his own free will. I don't understand why I get the feeling that there is a small segment of fans who would like to see it expunged from the record entirely (so to speak). Or I misunderstood, which is always a possibility.

Adam was pretty clear -- they co-wrote the song. That means that Adam gets 50% of the songwriter royalties is he has 50% of the publishing rights. There is no way to get around that portion. But, as far as I can tell, this song isn't registered with BMI or ASCAP, so no way to confirm writing credits.
However, I doubt that Adam would tweet that if he did not have a co-write credit.
This make it different than to Take One demos -- where Adam was just a session artist paid to sing someone else's demos.

UKGlambert AdamLambertRocksUK by LambertUK An update by RCAEd -- Live the Life by J. Scott featuring Adam Lambert | The Official Adam Lambert Site adamofficial.com/us/node/1481830Thanks for watching the farm while I was looking into this, FlashMod. Just got word from my A&R team that they weren't aware of this because it predates AI, as Adam pointed out in his tweet, and with it, his contract with RCA/19 records. Now waiting on their confirmation of the legalities involved, but I'm glad this is looking like a non-issue now. I'm sorry -- I am supposed to believe that they were unaware of a track that was released almost a year ago? And that was in the press for 2 years.Guys, even pretty casual fans knew this was going to be released to iTunes. HELLO?!??!?! Its called INTENTIONAL CLUELESSNESS! (pretend it doesn't exist until ya can't pretend no mo'!) And, to be honest, its not an RCA product, RCAEd has been pretty busy lately, and why go looking for stuff outside your immediate job description when you're already totally swamped? #justsay'n

I dunno what the poopy thang is but I personally wouldn't poop over a guest appearance on a cable show--I hate Lifetime so effin much lol--that's a few yrs past it's heyday. Don't get me wrong, it's good exposure and it's a good show and right up his ally but I will totes be bummin if that's the poop worthy event. Maybe we all got our hopes up waaay too high or maybe Alison's poop threshold (eww lol) is signifigantly lower than mine but when someone says something will make me crap my pants then it better be the epicest of all epicness. Like David Hasselhoff singing on the Berlin wall levels of epicness. Ya know? EPIC. Here are some guesses since I love games: Being the first American idol to sing in SPACE!!! He comes out with his own line of MAC cosmetics called Glamakeup because I am too tired to think of a better name. He opens the VMA's singing a duet of Opposites Attract with Paula with him playing the role of MC Scat Cat. He has been chosen to host SNL (and MC Scat Cat is the musical guest of course) He reveals in a song that he was personally responsible for the capture of Osama Bin Laden. He is writing his memoirs and will finally reveal who he is *really* sleeping with. Is it the Fwink? Or Kris? Or Tommy? Or *insert personal ship preference here*?!! Erm..that's all I got. Hopefully the real thing is infinitely better than my suggestions. Maybe Alison just should have kept her trap shut lol. lol, I just love this, some really crazy ideas haha

Or I misunderstood, which is always a possibility. Right. And it's not like I've been given the luxury of perusing his 19 or RCA contracts either. (LOL, like I'd know what they say anyway.) I've gone on faith with those and the fact that the J. Scott dude publicly tweeted Adam would receive half, that seems pretty damn binding, IMO. If gentlemen's agreements often hold up in court a public declaration to the world, such as Twitter, that cannot be permanently deleted (esp. with screen-capping ninjas around), it seems pretty substantial. Not that I'm expecting Adam to make much of anything (per Q3's earlier breakdown), but at least he's not being hosed.

No wonder we all love him so much! He is so good. Refreshing. Speaking of living the life, I have a rock solid source that says that Adam has told him he is very happy right now and is taking this time to enjoy the life he has worked so hard to achieve by working non-stop the last couple of years. Hearing this makes me happy! I'm glad he is smart enough to take the time to enjoy the journey. As fans have wondered, bemoaned, angsted, commented, gone into withdrawal symptoms because of the scarcity of Adam news and tweets in the recent months, this is THE BEST REASON in the world for him to be scarce. Taking time to enjoy the fruits of his labors and to prepare, to create and to love.
