Oh I know he is brave and I certainly don't think he should regret anything. I just don't know why he acknowledged it. He obviously did and I am sure he had good reason, I just can't figure out what that would be. LOL. A little mystery never hurt anyone I don't get the confusion. Adam and J. Scott created the song together, for better or for worse. J. Scott waited two years and did not release out of deference to Adam. Now he wants to release it and he was taking a beating from Adam's fans and being cast as an opportunist and a villain. If Adam let the guy twist in the wind for something Adam bears no animosity about, wouldn't he be acting rather callous? Consider if the roles were reversed and Adam wasn't the one who made it, but was still the creative, talented, courageous man he is now, just trying to get his break. Would he be a jerk for trying to release a song he invested a certain amount of time and money on regardless if his collaborator had moved onto other things? If that collaborator tried to disavow any knowledge of it and his fans were attacking Adam because he is doing whatever he can to get his talent out there, would that be fair? He acknowledged it because it's part of his history and apparently he's not ashamed of it, even if it's not representative of what he's doing now. Thanks for the explanation, I am easily confused. This makes sense to me. Sorry everyone - didn't mean to be beating a dead horse.

Don't have time to catch up right now as I am headed out to a free movie on the Hudson River but I realize I have mistaken this current song with the original bastard album. --- Suzie Fierce, I didn't get a chance to read your long response but I'm sure I don't agree with it. --- I suspect Adam's management is not going to be too happy with his tweet. That's okay, the important thing is that Adam agrees.

Adam was pretty clear -- they co-wrote the song. That means that Adam gets 50% of the songwriter royalties is he has 50% of the publishing rights. There is no way to get around that portion. But, as far as I can tell, this song isn't registered with BMI or ASCAP, so no way to confirm writing credits. However, I doubt that Adam would tweet that if he did not have a co-write credit. This make it different than to Take One demos -- where Adam was just a session artist paid to sing someone else's demos. It is registered on BMI and Adam is not listed as a co-writer. repertoire.bmi.com/title.asp?blnWriter=True&blnPublisher=True&blnArtist=True&keyID=11808797&ShowNbr=0&ShowSeqNbr=0&querytype=WorkIDAll versions are listed when you click on J. Scott's name. He's written a crapload of stuff! Then he did lie, didn't he?

Then he did lie, didn't he? I don't think so. J Scott said Adam gets 50%. That is true, IMO. Adam said they wrote it together. Somehow, in their contract, I would say Adam gets 50% whether he wrote it or not.

Just thinking, since this album is up to #4, on electronic albums. And it appears that 1/2 of Adam's diehards may not even buy it. And, probably the general public knows nothing about it..... do you suppose we can stop angsting about album #2... his actual album that will have promo, appearances, ads, radio play, etc?!
