Isn't fan fic just porn with a fancy name? That cut right to the chase. Many months ago Sasha tweeted something with a link. As always, I clicked on the link. Whoa! It was Adommy fan fic. And in answer to your question, at least from my point of view, and Sasha's, yeah, it was pretty much porn. Except, not always. There's something called PWP (porn without plot) which is basically straight porn. But the good stories have a lot of plot, and character development, etc. just like a good short story or novella would. Porn may or may not be included but it isn't the main point. |

But do you know any of these people outside of the online community? The reason I ask is that I know for a fact that some of the online communities are set up as basically a fantasy world where reality is not allowed to exist. You do not break character within the community. So anyone who only knows those people through that community will never know that it is fake. If you do know the people in real life and they act that way that is a different story. Many of the live journal communities especially however are actually set up as basically a role playing environment in that your online persona in those communities is not real. My daughter has actually been a member of communities like this where real conversation only happens in email or private message and everything in the community is in essence role-play. Even if the community is open to all there can be in groups who only break character in private communication within their group and love to freak out the outsiders. ontd_ai has always struck me as that kind of group. There are cliques and subgroups there who play all sorts of weird games with casual posters. Frankly I would have been terrified to meet some of them IRL LOL. I can bert and flail like a maniac online but IRL I'm pretty sane. Most people know I love Adam (a lot) but they'd never guess the degree of my obsession by the way I act in my every day life. Now my closest friends are aware because they like to tease me about it but to the casual observer I'm just a fan. I do think ONTD_ai is a community that likes to mess with the casual poster and it took me a while to understand that. I got really pissed a few times when they would post nasty things about Adam but then I realized they are more obsessed with him than most of us are and they are being ironic. Exactly. Within the live journal community there are some amazingly talented writers. Gypsyscribbles and Radiogaga are two that come to mind. Radio wrote a story a few months back that was absolutely incredible called the Laws of Illyria. I mean seriously it could be turned into an actual book and find a market with the young adult writers who are so popular right now. Character development, plot, subplot, action... it was amazing. |

So while it's quiet and Adam's likely having mind-blowing sex and languishing on a beach here:  (If this hut's a-rockin ...)Maybe we can play Best. GNT vid. Evah. They all have their appeal and likely a case can be made fore every show. I have several favorites, then I stumble upon another and love that too. He looks particularly fierce and beautiful in this one and it IS an incredible performance (and incredible by Adam standards, not real people standards ...) ETA: Terra's editing is A+++ |

Oh thanks! Like I said, I've dipped my toe in, but then hit a patch of meh stuff and got sidetracked. The one I read today was Radiogaga's "And Other Perfect Things"; it was beautiful (and yes, there is sex) but it is so beautifully written. Gorgeous prose. I will definitely read "Laws of Illyria." |

Susie, IMO Cologne is one of the best shows of the entire tour. It's probably in my top 5 and I wasn't even there! Wasn't Cologne the night after Paris. Hasn't it been confimred that Sauli went to the Paris show?  This is one of my favorite acoustic WLLs, Foxwoods. Sexy as hell and the vocal is 2nd to none. |
