This is all really interesting. I used to read a lot of historical romance novels and was really taken away on their journey. It was a fantasy world I loved. But to be delusional enough to believe it was real seems ridiculous. I love speculating about Adam's life and we as fans are really invested in it but at some point it is bound to interfere with his real life if he constantly has to answer all the mundane questions over and over again. Some of it may be fun but I don't want to see him change the way he lives his life because of it!

All the examples you all are using for shipping are fictional characters, like Kirk and Mr Spock. Is shipping of real life people as common? I wonder that too. Interesting discussion here tonight. I had never heard of fanfiction until that interview where someone (Jim Cantiello?) asked Adam if he knew there was some about him, and Adam replied that he hadn't read it but that maybe Katy (Allen) should... LOL! There's seems to be a lot of RPF related to American Idol. It seems to go all the way back to at least Season 2. Every pairing you could imagine, and some you wouldn't want to, LOL. I wonder if RPF started with reality TV? |
