WHAT??? What do you want me to say? Poor quality sound with people talking in the background. Incomplete song.
AND IT IS FUCKING INCREDIBLE!!! How many ways did I love it?
1. The voice. Ranks among one of the most tenderly, delicately, exquisitely sung songs I have heard him perform. His voice just floats on the melody, seamlessly, from bottom to top.
2. Interpretation. Masterful. So much emotion, so much angst. Just the voice and an acoustic guitar playing minimally in the background. His phrasing, pauses, crescendos, decrescendos, bending notes.... it grabs at your heart, even when you can't understand the lyrics.
3. Articulation. But, it is amazing how well you can understand the lyrics of a completely new song with all the distortion and background chatter.
4. Song structure: Beautiful, plaintive melody. Touching lyrics, and no one could sing it like Adam. To sing "they say we'll rot in hell" --- such a bitter, brutal lyric, but the first two times, Adam just floats it thru the air -- a wonderful contradiction. Just like Adam turns away hateful comments with his kindness. Then, the last time, he powerfully proclaims his point, that they WILL NOT.
The composition, the interpretation, the vocals... all sublime. But, you knew that already!
Thank you. I am like a lemming, can't commit to loving a song without the Cassie Seal of approval.
What kind of range does this song have? It sounded like a difficult song to sing and sound interesting. He has used the same note structure on another song at the 30 second mark. I can't place it. Do you recognize it?
