If there is an offer from Idol(we don't know that) no way he will pass on that, I honestly think he will jump to the opportunity.
Yes Katy Perry is a big star just like Taylor, you can't get bigger than that!

just a little off topic but since their version of Bohemian Rhapsody has been posted here before, and I didn't see it mentioned...the guy from Pentatonix was at the Queer prom as well, he was also featured in one of the red-carpet video interviews...not sure if the blond taller guy that is with him is also the bandmember... I gotta ask...Is Katy Perry THAT big in the US right now? Maybe I'm living in my Glambert-bubble too much but yes, she had a hit here with "I kissed a girl", "teenage dreams" and "california girls"...but of recently I don't rembember hearing much of her... If Adam continues the QAL tour in the new year that would be some EXTENSIVE touring for them all. I gues right now, yes QAL is quite densly in Adams scedule but in 5 to 10 years time when the collaboration might have ended we'll miss them before we know it... Hmmm, I did a little google search comparing Katy Perry to Kelly Clarkson came up with 65 million google hits compared to 16 million. The three top stories about Katy today (Kelly's latest are from 3 days ago) don't even mention Idol. So yeah, still pretty relevant. Save

Possible unpopular opinion, but I really, really hope Adam doesn't lose out on Idol because of QAL. I'm not one of those fans who breaks out in hives at the mention of QAL, but if more international dates pop up that would preclude him from accepting a judging slot on Idol, IMO that would not be a good trade - especially with all the time he's already devoting to the collaboration this year. Idol would give Adam broad U.S. visibility, which QAL won't do. Of course if the commitments are already in place, so be it, but it would be a shame. Bowing down to your post!! 'Twould be a shame indeed. As much I will be enjoying the 2 upcoming NYC QAL shows, I'm hoping he hops off and does his solo thing soon.

Yes, the tall blond is Scott Hoying and he is also a member of PTX. Didn't know their Bohrap cover was featured here -- must go find that post. (Btw, I'm gutted that they are losing bass singer Avi.)

About the highlighted part above...I can't provide any numbers or stats, and others here may feel differently, but I consider KP the "darling" of the pop music scene, somewhat equivalent to Carrie Underwood in Country Music. Someone mentioned a few days ago that young teens look to younger stars already and barely know about Katy. Not sure if that's a common trend, but I think she is still a very reputable "name" in pop music and that she satisfies the Idol demographic. Good timing for a little career boost though I would rank current female pop divas in this order 1) Adele 2) Katy and Taylor Swift 3) Gaga and P!NK 4) Sia No singing competition show has ever had a star as big as Katy. None!

What makes Idol different from the Voice and other shows? What would you leave out, expand, change to fit into a condensed schedule? Are the differences important or should it be more alike?
Auditions with judges taped vs live in front of an audience
Joke Auditions vs non-joke auditions
Hollywood week vs already auditioned down to judges choices
No judge involvement in song selection presentation - vs judges doing songs and judge specific mentors
Contestant competition vs judge competition
single singing vs duet singing

How about being on tour with Queen on another continent! Sometimes, people just are not available!! I still wonder if Idol originally went to DMG for Adam. Then found out he wasn't available but Katy was. IMO, getting Katy is huge! She HeWhoCannot ameds anyone ever on The Voice or XF! Sure. My gut feeling tells me though that scheduling conflicts aren't the issue here. If Adam ends up not getting the gig, I do hope though that I was wrong and that he was at least asked to fill the position. Agreed that Idol hit the jackpot by getting Katy on board. We have NO idea what is happening in Adam's schedule. Scheduling conflicts are real. Especially if there are arenas booked, etc. Those happen months and months (maybe even a year in advance.) Some scheduling conflicts just can't be worked around. TBH, your gut feeling is based on nothing. There have been plenty of articles naming Adam as being approached. No one knows and probably won't ever, unless 1) he does become a judge or 2) He shares Idol info with us, which he has never done in the past. or 3) We see his 2018 schedule and go "Ah ha!"

I would bring back the theme weeks and the star mentors. Those themes are what really showcased the artistic people from the karaoke people. Think, "Ring of Fire!"

He/She is late. The 3 million happened on 7 May already. Not that I can see their tweets. He/she blocked me when I told them some of their Spotify numbers were wrong.
