Oh kanadie I'm so happy you agree with me! Yes, yes not like Soaked but lush and tasteful!!! You're an expert and your opinion means a lot! I'm not an expert, but in my head? I hear this with a cello. That instrument could really make the melody line sing. Yes! Was just about to say the same thing, that would be absolutely beautiful.

By the way, I used to live in Indianapolis downtown from 91-97. I worked for a concert production company there, and did many amazing shows at The Vogue in Broadripple! I miss that city, and still have many friends there. I love it when someone knows my city! I live sort of between Butler and Broadripple. I work downtown and while some parts of downtown are struggling, it is full of such great shops and restaurants and museums and theaters. Not quite as exciting as NYC or LA, but a great place to be. I would love to live downtown.

That is beautiful! Adam's beautiful spirit touches so many in so many ways. And he does it by just being "Adam."

Somehow I picture this song with strings on the album. Violin, something like that, I don't know. I would die. Yeah I agree! Not intense orchestration liked Soaked, but something lush and tasteful would certainly do the trick. I also think if you listen to the guitar melody that Monte was playing, that it will play a big part in the song as the guitar did in WWFM, though different than WWFM, in the same vain as it! Also, I am surprised that this Outlaws of Love does not contain a bridge, as I really think that Adam excels in writing bridges. I was surprised by the lack of a bridge too. I am thinking that we got only a stripped down acoustic version with the essence of the song and that the album version will be not only instrumentally different but also add that bridge. Adam knew that YTs would be all over within hours, so he satisfied our need for new while still knowing that the official version will have us flailing all over again (and encourage purchasing the official version, not that we need any encouragement. )

Here is another interpretation of the OOL lyrics:

My take on one line of OOL: "Nowhere to grow old, we're always on the run."
Well, I'm gonna look at this as Adam writing about/being inspired by his relationship with Sauli and their unique situation of being a binational gay couple. Assuming they're serious (which I think is a fair assumption), That line is heartbreaking because if you think about it, unless Sauli gets a green card, or Adam becomes a citizen of Finland, or they both renounce their respective citizenships and live in a more accepting country like Canada or the UK, they can never, ever live together in one place for longer than Sauli's 6 month or 1 year visas will allow, and Sauli faces deportation and banishment from the US for 10 years under US law if they try to bend the rules. Hence the "Nowhere to grow old" line. Then, the "we're always on the run" is significant because of the circumstances of their relationship, they can't stay in one place for long periods of time. They HAVE to leave/come back/leave come back/leave come back. Hence, the "we're always on the run" line, which is heartbreaking.
