Here is another interpretation of the OOL lyrics: BdwayDiva1 Posted 104 mins ago My take on one line of OOL: "Nowhere to grow old, we're always on the run." Well, I'm gonna look at this as Adam writing about/being inspired by his relationship with Sauli and their unique situation of being a binational gay couple. Assuming they're serious (which I think is a fair assumption), That line is heartbreaking because if you think about it, unless Sauli gets a green card, or Adam becomes a citizen of Finland, or they both renounce their respective citizenships and live in a more accepting country like Canada or the UK, they can never, ever live together in one place for longer than Sauli's 6 month or 1 year visas will allow, and Sauli faces deportation and banishment from the US for 10 years under US law if they try to bend the rules. Hence the "Nowhere to grow old" line. Then, the "we're always on the run" is significant because of the circumstances of their relationship, they can't stay in one place for long periods of time. They HAVE to leave/come back/leave come back/leave come back. Hence, the "we're always on the run" line, which is heartbreaking. oooh that's difficult if true, don't know these immigration laws Thank you for your post, I think I'll cry some more Me too, thank you for posting but it brakes my heart...

I saw this on twitter, and while I get the point, I think its a little dramatic. I'm not trying to minimize the impact of the vagaries of immigration law, which can be a challenge for international couples of any sort. But as long as Sauli can keep his I visa (the international media visa), he will be able to stay indefinitely. I visa's are good for one year at a time, and there is no limit on how many times they can be renewed. If you have to be here on a visa, the I Visa is a great one to have. They have some time to figure out what they want to do without Sauli violating immigration laws or facing deportation. The lyrics talk about people wanting them to rot in hell. They have more immediate issues than what happens when Sauli's visa needs to be renewed. And the broader interpretation is more poetic, and angsty, which feeds my vision of Adam As Artist, lol, so I'm sticking with that one.

The you tube download that I have at home has a download button under every video that I open. Does anyone recall this one? I use Real Player (real.com). A download button appears in the upper right hand corner of the video. Pretty easy. You can also use it as default player for audio, etc. BTW - LOVE your concert pictures!

Somehow I picture this song with strings on the album. Violin, something like that, I don't know. I would die. Yeah I agree! Not intense orchestration liked Soaked, but something lush and tasteful would certainly do the trick. I also think if you listen to the guitar melody that Monte was playing, that it will play a big part in the song as the guitar did in WWFM, though different than WWFM, in the same vain as it! Also, I am surprised that this Outlaws of Love does not contain a bridge, as I really think that Adam excels in writing bridges. The lack of a bridge was one of the first things I noticed too.

I don't think Sauli and Adam will have any trouble staying together. I may be an optimist, but with states passing equality in marriage laws, I think it will only be less than a few years before a married gay couple has the same immigration rights, to stay with their spouse, that a hetero couple does. Maybe with the New York law they already do. If it is legal in NY then how can one be deported?
