Q3 - Miachihu and I noticed that Bon Jovi have a song called Outlaws of Love on you tube. When AFL was introducing his, I didn't hear him name the song's title. Did he? Or have peeps named it for him? Can two artists have the same title for different songs and it's no big deal? If so, Bon Jovi's is probably getting more hits this weekend! It's on the set list ( www.yfrog.com/gy9t8xcj).

Hey, quick question... I haven't had time to look back over both threads--I've skimmed some... Have we discussed Adam's chosen, boyfriend-friendly alternative to the Fever-kiss, or have we just been too caught up in New Song Glory? I thought it was hilarious but haven't seen it come up (probably there was already an in depth analysis here with twenty-seven 8x10 glossy photographs with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one and I just missed it, in which case I apologize for the redundancy). You can see it here on this vid...at the 18 second mark, instead of kissing Tommy, he asks Tommy's tattoo of John Wayne "how you doin'?", and then kisses it (him--the Duke), and then says in a lulzworthy southern accent "Welp, lets step up into the saloon..." and then goes on into the "we'll never get too far/ just you me and the bar" lyric... Tommy is CRACKING UP... LOL seriously Adam never change. He so silly... *grin* Haven't seen it discussed, but I certainly noticed it. No fooling around with Tommy at all, in a sexual way. And, Adam's comments about fanfiction concerning Tommy could be taken as a gentle denial of anything between the two of them. I'm sure Sauli would understand if Adam kissed Tommy for show, but, it seems that Adam doesn't want to risk it. It is not necessary. Oh, and MWP, I caught that reference to Alice's Restaurant. Brings back fond memories. I loved the saga when I was a hippie.

Adam certainly knows his fans and thanks to Suz, the first video was posted very quickly. Since none of the videos have been pulled, do you think this was all done with RCA's blessing? RCA has never pulled any of Adam's vids. God knows there are 20 bazillion GNT vids out there. Or do you mean because it's a "scoop" or an unreleased song? I'm sure Adam told someone he was planning to sing it, so they would know. They obviously understand the value of free publicity and building buzz. One of the many reasons I'm so excited about this song is that is proof of exactly what Adam has been saying – this album is going to be raw and real and the vocals are going to be at the forefront. It also is indicative of how he has grown as a songwriter and as subjective as music is, I have seen very little criticism of the song in any way. I haven't been to MJ's since this morning, but when I read that thread, it was universally positive (a miracle unto itself). That says to me this album is going to be as good as we've dreamed and he's aspired to. I have seena few comments here and there of people saying they didn't like it. A few people wanking per usual and then some at ONTD who say they love him but the song is a bit boring. I'm sure the album version will have more of a full sound, be less sleepy*. Besides, I think some people--esp younger ones--are so used to music that has all the bells and whistles and noise and thumping euro dance beats that when a stripped down song comes around they find it boring. Or they just find it boring because they find it boring. LOL. What do I know. I do think it needs a bridge tho. Unless the album version has some sort of amazing orchestration in that place that they just couldn't recreate live...IDK. I wonder since he says this is for sure on the album, how many songs have been decided to make the cut by now? I know he doesn't want to leak anything and keep us in suspense, but I wish we would get a general idea of how far along they are in the process....but whatevz.

Well there you go! I totally missed that. Many songs can have the same title. That does explain the random tweet I saw saying that Adam was covering Bon Jovi at the concert though. LOL!

I don't think it is any big deal.

I think the Fever kissing/licking was part of GNT and Adam has moved on from that. Nice to see that his relationship with the mic is still hot and heavy, though.

I woke up at 4am after going to bed at 2am.... thank you Suz..... thinking about how Adam would get to his trailer without ruining his boots. I know there is world hunger and global warming, but c'mon, they're Rick Owens! geezzz, you're right. He'd take them off tho, right??

There was nothing desperate or defiant in Adam's performance of the OOL. It was a bit tender and sweet in parts, yet the pain and uncertainty was clear. I will leave it to Adam to explain what the lyrics mean to him, but I felt that he was stating a fact -- we all have the same feeling and experience, and we can't change who we are. Scars make us who we are. Hearts and homes are broken, broken. Far, we could go so far. With our minds wide open, open. Hey, tears all fall the same We all feel the rain We can't change.
To me -- I though of the hurtful attempts to "de-gayafy" people. No I do not think that anyone in the music/entertainment press believes this is the new single. This appears to be an album track -- . My guess is that he chose to use this song as the first song from the album we got to hear because 1. The message is very important to him -- and it as clearly a very personal statement, and 2. He wanted to have it posted on YT to generate buzz for the new album, and 3. He wanted to emphasis that he in a singer-songwriter. And Adam's comment about it being posted on YouTube seemed to be said with a wink -- like he wanted it posted. Adam certainly knows his fans and thanks to Suz, the first video was posted very quickly. Since none of the videos have been pulled, do you think this was all done with RCA's blessing? RCA has only had Google pull two types of Adam FYE Era YTs: 1. Reports of official music videos -- which they continue to do. 2. Videos of IIHY live GNT performances for a brief period (about 3 weeks) until Adam became aware of the problem. Then this stopped. I am certain that Adam's RCA team knew he was going to perform the song and expected it to be posted online. It appears to be a planned viral marketing effort -- feeding into the album promotion. My GUESS is the primary lead single will be something more uptempo but that OOL will be used for online promotion to make sure there is a mid-tempo ballad from the album other there. My only expectation is that they have a well-staged and carefully thought out plan to promote Adam #2. I will sit back, watch and let RCA do their job.
