Thank you NoAngel for you wise words today. Loved your essay. Thank you for sharing amw and wiga, your stories today touched my heart. Thank you spring2009 love your photos! And all atopians thank you for bringing vids, pics, tweets, consert memories, comments, etc. And special thank you to gelly for all those beautiful photos you save and bring here. Please, bring so many pics you can. I am reading atop from phone most of the time, and it's very easy if pics are embedded here. I love OoL. At consert night I was sad 'cause I had mask only for a brief moment. But in fact it was a good thing: only music in my heart that night was Outlaws of Love. Been listening it over and over. Today I noticed, I can listen it even without tears. I'm trying to find the version (IIRC mp3) without marry me, can't find it now. Does anyone have the link?LOL it was so much easier during and after Moscow consert, when I had time and stayed on line by computer almost non stop.

NoAngel - Actually I did believe he would surprise us and do something new. I asked him on twitter, nicely and spoke it three times here on Atop, trying to spin some magic into my request. I KNOW Adam listens to his fans, because he often responds in sweet and lovely ways to our requests when we keep it reasonable. And a surprise last night was a reasonable request that I expected to be met. New album in the works, a free form show with a lot of leeway to do something new and exciting, a large captive audience and a bunch of peeps recording away. Adam is a very very smart man and knows exactly how to use modern media. By performing a new song, especially one with political overtones with that pure voice of his, no over the top flamboyance, he's created a good buzz in many different circles for his upcoming album. The lyrics are true, true, true. I live in liberal town, but my partner and i do not do PDA. no way. While we are out in our social and spiritual community, we prefer not to have to deal with the repercussions of our sexuality in either of the populations we serve. Our co-workers are aware of who we are to each other, but her students and my patients do not, at least not because we are out with them on purpose. Some people figure it out, but we are careful with how close we get to each other in public, and this includes romantic evenings out at a restaurant. No holdings hands across the table! It is a complicated dance and it never ends, being gay. Who to reveal this to? Who not? Who is on that need to know basis? Every time I meet someone new I have to make that decision. Do I use the terms "partner" or "wife"? Or is it safer to just talk about my ex-husband and children when the subject of personal, family relationships come up? Adam and his song hit this issue square on the head. And I love him for it. I love him for stepping up and singing it like it is. Pure and simple, baby, pure and simple. Thank you so much for making this post. Although I have never actually been in a polyamorous relationship I do consider myself poly and have many friends in the poly, LGBT and BDSM communities. I've been lucky enough to not live or work in situations that would be dangerous for me to speak my mind and I have always marveled at the strength of those who do and must therefore live this highwire act juggling and tiptoeing in a constant balancing act. I know that I could never do it. Much like Adam I just am not capable of keeping up those divisions. I confess to causing my ex roommate difficulty once because of not being able to keep straight who knew what in her life as a pansexual, poly, BDSM, pagan. Luckily it was a small gathering and only one couple wasn't aware of the BDSM and it turned out OK but it really scared me to think that I could have really messed things up for her by not remembering who knew what. There is so much stress in life for everyone that it is monstrously unfair to me that this additional burden is born by even those who mostly consider themselves out. Straight people take for granted their ability to express their feelings in whatever way they are comfortable with and often never think what it would be like if they were not allowed to do so. I wish people would take a pledge to walk in someone else's shoes for one day even and restrict themselves from those many often unconscious expressions of love and see how it feels.

Thank you all so much! And thank you, AMW for sharing your story. I have so many gay co-workers and friends, and live in an ultra-liberal place, and I sometimes forget how much of the country has a huge problem accepting love in whatever form it takes. I also have a lot of difficulty figuring out how love can cause so much fear and hate. Yet even here, I know that my gay friends are careful with PDA unless they're somewhere considered very safe and accepting, like the Castro. You'd be surprised by how fast a liberal soccer mom turns into a pearl-clutcher when she's at the mall with her kid and sees a same-sex couple holding hands. :-/
