LMAO at the US magazine hoopla, the "journalist" who wrote the piece is saying that Adam lied, that according to his tape, Adam didn't say near future, but just future, and angry that Adam didn't contact them to change but instead took it out on them on twitter. Even though at first I wasn't to keen on Adam's second tweet regarding the whole US magazine marriage fiasco, unless I hear that tape I'm gonna stick with Adam on this, those tabloids always misquote celebs just to get the juiciest headlines. If they have tape and Adam said what they quoted, then I can see why the writer would be ticked off. But I agree that Adam's intention was to say what he tweeted; maybe he mispoke, or thought his tone made his point clear, or whatever. Anyway it seems Adam is pretty adamant about his stance on this, lol. I don't know if this will grow as a story, but worst case scenario is that he says "oops I mispoke and here's what I meant" and gets to "clarify" and expand on his original statement, and maybe talk a bit more about his relationship and/or stance on marriage equality. It's all good and just part of the hoopla and stirring up interest, generating headlines, etc. etc. Yes, I agree. I don't think that the writer would have said that he has the tape if he didn't. But I also think that Adam meant to say 'in the near future' and probably thinks that he did say that. I always thought that the sentence sounded a bit odd as it was: I don't see myself getting married in the future. English is not my native language but it sounds odd to me somehow to define the time, and that's why I think that Adam meant to say in the near future.

Well - after careful study of the matter, I decided that if Adam says that he said "near" then he said "near" and they can take that faulty no-good tape and stick it where the sun don't shine. Period. and nothing wrong with a little interesting pr back-and-forth going on either. ;D

Period. this is always my stance when it comes to Adam! I agree with NoAngel's post too. The statement was oddly phrased and going by Adam's "never say never" attitude he's always had, I have no doubt he intended to say, "near," and I also think the interviewer knew it. The logical follow-up question (that I think 95% of all interviewers would ask, if he had indeed phrased his response like that) is, "Really? Never?" And they would want him to expand upon what he just said, which could then lead to a discussion on the gay marriage issue. Keeping the conversation flowing is integral to an interviewer's job. I think the writer knew what Adam meant and that he was trying to brush of the line of questioning, so he hastened his response. The interviewer deliberately didn't follow the logical progression of the discussion because he wanted that "gotcha!" ( Sarah Palin)

The passive aggressive pile on that has defined today's forum is really disturbing. If ad hominums are not allowed .... they are not allowed, regardless of who makes them. If some pile ons are allowed and some not, it smacks of favoritism and can only lead to a nasty site. The kindness and intelligence of posters is what makes this forum so special and it scares me to see such activity. I am not pointing to any one person as the pile-on was quite widespread....and it keeps resurfacing...not ending on p8, sadly. Hope this does not make me a target and I really, really love and respect this place. Sarcasm and nastiness is viral and seductive...especially in a virtual, almost anonymous milieu [sp?] virtual hugs...all round... Just a general comment from my experience on message boards. So is baiting and then playing innocent, especially when it's a pattern. Last comment then going about daily business. Sometimes a decoder ring is REALLY a decoder ring. One of the reasons I don't EVER watch standup is that comedians think what they are saying is funny when it isn't. I am now putting myself in that same category. Sky King signing off........Captain Kangaroo? Buffalo Bob? Will Robinson?

Glad Adam got to see the show. In case anyone is interested, the Met has a brief video tour of the exhibition on its website, along with some additional background info and some beautiful photographs. Here is the link: blog.metmuseum.org/alexandermcqueen/about/The vids on the Met site for McQueen were in the exhibit. The one with the models as chess pieces was my fav. And just as I thought, Adam did not get a private viewing. He was squished in the exhibit hall just like the rest of us.
