i thought Ghost Town could break through and be a big hit for Adam. It was so catchy and haunting. I loved it. And it did well and got some attention, but not great. *sigh* I think it was quite a big hit in Europe. It was definitely hit here in Czechia and Slovakia. It put Adam here on the map. And they (radio stations) got to know Adam has a devoted fanbase and they play Adam now in our radio almost daily. Never happened before GT. Yes, Ghost Town was big here too (the Netherlands). Nowadays if I tell people about Adam and they don't know who he is I refer to Ghost Town. Whistle a bit of the intro and then almost everybody goes 'ahaaa, now I know'

And it did well and got some attention, but not great. *sigh* Ghost Town did more than great in quite some countries. In the Netherlands I track the top 40 chart, which is seemed to be the top chart here. So far this year there are 3 songs that have achieved more points in that chart than Adam's GT did in 2015. Even though he didn't go to #1 he had massive numbers and longevity. It was the #15 song over whole 2015 in The Netherlands and in 2016 13 songs gained more points. For 2017 the 3 songs who have now more points are: Ed Sheeran - Shape of You Kygo & Selena Gomez - It ain't Me Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee - Despacito But as I said already earlier in this thread. We don't go wild on a song just because it's a big artist. Yes they chart mostly high, but they don't have the longevity. They disappear fairly quickly as well again. Taylor didn't make it to Ghost Town's top position in Spotify yet and is dropping already.

Working at the tree nursery doing my internship I spent a few days on the field with the polish workers. When they asked me who I liked I said Adam Lambert. With the help of referencing WWFM and GT but they knew his name as well. They knew who he was alright!!!

Lol. Sorry it just seems every time particularly an LGBT artist releases a song. That gets traction, or becomes a hit. It's the same routine around here. Oh Wo Adam. Why can't he have the same level of mainstream success, and respect from his peers :D.
For the record GT as rightly pointed out was the highest selling, and streamed pop/deep house song on US radio ever. As far as hits go for Adam. Wwfm was a monster HAC hit. And GT was a monster streaming hit. It went triple platnum in OZ, I recall. Some reason did not resonate on NZ radio. Strange as Adams music has always done very well over here. To Ben fair I do remember Adam performed probably the best live recording of GT on The Voice OZ. Which helped elevate it. Obviously as pointed out had huge staying power in Europe.
Adam could be still feeling the Idol stigma. Or reality stigma. Although Idol was nearly 9 years ago. So unless your a hardcore fan, which is most of us here. Most of the general audience probably wouldn't know Adams still going. Adams success with Queen has given him a level of respect within the industry. That's hard to reach. That goes beyond any chart placement. To me Adam just like Elton John and George Michael was. Is a trailblazer. He's going to make a massive cultural impact. He already has.
I get it's frustrating as a fan. Adams mostly under the radar. But you know I don't see Adam as the type of artist who gets a massive #1 hit. As it is Adam seems to want to forge a path of creativity. And artistry. So I don't think he'll get SS level of success anyhow. But I see longevity when I look at Adam. It's something I don't see in most of the under 25 something pop stars, he's forging his own unique path. It may not be the norm. But trust me he'll get his due recognition.

I think you are missing what people are saying. Those of us in the US would like to see Adam get great radio play here and not because SS gets it. Sam is certainly not the only artist who gets massive play in the US. And we all recognize Adam's success with Queen and his solo success as we talk about it all the time. And he is well known in the US and respected and not just internationally. But if fans wish for more radio play and greater success and recognition in the US it is because we think he deserves it and we live here. SS is not the issue or the problem. #1's would be great but more radio would be good enough. I scroll most of the time when things are posted about his friends or drag queens. It does not bother me but I'm generally uninterested. But when there is something of interest I voice my opinion or agreement or frustration. No one has to agree or even read it if they are uninterested in a particular conversation.
