Because of the discussion yesterday about objectifying and differences between male and female performers in the sort of questions they get asked, I wanted to share a piece about Tove Lo. I really admire her as an artist, and I don't mind when she strips on stage either (guessing I'm only mostly straight ). But first of all Tove Lo makes great music, telling a story, getting her feelings across. The stripping is (well, at my show at least) maybe 10 seconds of a whole show, not at all in the centre of the evening. She seduces the audience, making a statement that it is okay to be comfortable in your own body as a woman, making it clear that she doesn't give a fuck about people who think they can tell her what to do and what not to do with it. She reminded me of GNT Adam a bit. If you have time, read this. It's not just Adam who gets peppered with inappropriate questions. www.theguardian.com/music/2016/oct/20/tove-lo-sex-habits-stay-high-singer-second-album-lady-woodAlso: I do my fair share of objectifying Adam, but I try to keep it a bit private (in my own head, or PMs). I don't know if that makes it better or worse. For me it just feels better to know that he won't see it.
