Can anyone help me here. I posted yesterday about a tweeter who tweeted one word to Adam..fag. This tweet came out right around the same time that we were getting tweets that Adam was receiving his award and his speech included the prase "fucking freaking fag". Several of you commented on that and then we were lost in other stuff coming in. My problem is that I may have used the wrong name for him as I could not figure out how to 'copy' and paste the original tweet. Is there a secret to copying tweets?...I tried several times and finally just typed in what I could remember...thought I had the right name but either this person did get spammed and made his twitter unavailable for a bit...[doubtful he would cancel his twitter as he had and followed around 1,000 peeps and had over 10,000tweets out. He is a young black man and up till this one tweet, his recent tweets were very mundane about how bored he was and that he was going to bed. Then the nasty one, out of the blue. If I had the name wrong [for which I am really sorry]. I could not find it when I went back either but I could only go so far back and the tweets were coming in fast and furious to Adam's feed. So in the interest of verity and fairness....how do you get tweets to copy and how do you find an older tweet easily? There is no secret to copying a Tweet. You should be able to highlight the Tweet on your screen, copy and then paste. If your are running applications that use up your computer's or device's memory, it can interfere with copying. Other than that, should not be a problem. Thanks Q3....I do not know why it wasn't working for me but, as usual, it was probably me and not the computer that was messing up! sigh.....I have a sneaky suspicion that it may be because I was on Tweetdeck rather than twitter as well....and by the time I thought of that, I could not find the old tweet....

You should be able to highlight the Tweet on your screen, copy and then paste. If your are running applications that use up your computer's or device's memory, it can interfere with copying. Other than that, should not be a problem. It depends on what Twitter platform I'm using. With Web Twitter (which I rarely use), I can easily highlight and copy – everything, including extraneous information comes with. When I'm using Echofon for Mac (which is 90 percent of the time) it doesn't let me copy twitter names. I can highlight the message, but not the tweeter's name (it tries to give me a draggable hyperlink instead). So, I end up – like MsZue did – copying and pasting the text of the tweet, then just typing out the tweeter's name. I'm sure I've gotten it wrong once or twice in my day ... I haven't used TweetDeck in awhile, but it's layout more resembles Ecofon than Web Twitter.

Oh, SusieFiece -- I know nothing about Macs! I traveled last week only with a Mac and felt so disoriented!! I use TweetDeck in PC/Android world and it copies perfectly -- names and all! I am traveling this week with only a Mac again -- I will conquer this "easy to use" world of iThings. I honestly believe Mac and PC are designed to be opposites so people cannot migrate easily. Seriously -- even the delete key goes opposite directions!! And why can't Mac just add a two button mouse or even a 4 button control like my Android has?????? But the Mac and iThings are so much better at traveling and connecting to foreign networks that I will continue to work on it.

Haha..Q3. I just started using my first Mac after almost 20 years on a PC so I feel your pain! :-)
But to be fair, Mac's were usually the first to incorporate a feature so the question should be "Why do PC's use things backwards?...not the other way around....:-)

There are many singers that are worth more than Keys...too many to list...???

ETA Good grief it is hard to edit your words when they go into such a litte box...I am not even going to try for this post as I massacred it so badly! sheesh!!! Your copy question has been answered which is good because I doubt I could have been much help. However, about the small message screen ... if you look just below the box, there is the one word Expand and if you click on that the message box gets bigger. This has helped me follow my train of thought.

TOTALLY O T: This is to fill time post-flail from last night and pre-flail for tonight. I was just talking to a Brazilian friend who lives in Miami and she informed me they now make Lidocaine underwear to wear before you get a Brazilian wax. I have no one else to pass this info to and I had to share it with someone or burst. I honestly learn so much useful info here! And that is a great invention!! And anyone who has had a Brazilian wax will understand the brilliance of this!! I would think before AND after... have to remember these for the next time I am in the mood for a Brazilian wax.. : ;D Who knew... someone is cashing in right.. OMG

While we are on the topic of Macs - has anyone ever ordered one of the hard cover photo albums using iPhoto? I was playing around with it last night - started building an "Adam album" and oh my word - it looks truly lovely. I almost flailed myself into a stupor. It will take me months to get it perfect and I think it could be worth it.
Strange - I had no trouble switching over to the Mac. I find that itunes is easier to use with it. I plug my ipad or itouch into my Mac and they both know what to do to each other (prompts for everything!) And so much faster! Next stop, an iphone - my android is driving me absolutely crazy - too much work. I have truly gone stupid over everything Apple. And their customer service is absolutely superb.

LOL, I was a PC for entire life until about four years ago and I really had no problem with the transition. I'm still learning a lot of shortcuts. Of course, I used with a traditional keyboard for a couple of years before I had a laptop. The delete = backspace key takes a bit of getting used to and the mouse just needs to be left- or right-clicked. The dragging is infinitely easier than copying and pasting or right-click saving.
