I agree 100% that the translation was sketchy. Here’s two questions & answers, to show how much was omitted.
(The parts I omitted are underlined, and → explains why they were omitted)
[My original translation]
Q. First day of QAL European leg. Queen + AL was like destiny. What does Queen mean to you in your life?
[Google translation]
Q. Today is the first day of Queen's European tour.
Anyone who has watched "American Idol" will feel it. The meeting between Queen and Adam Lambert was a fate.
I've been together for five years now. What does Quinn mean in your life?
(Adam Lambert auditioned with Queen's song.)
→ Anyone who has watched AI will feel it: we don’t need that sentence. Anyone who has watched AI or anyone who watched QAL New Year’s Eve performance or anyone who saw Adam doing Wicked, this information is not really necessary to us.
→ I’ve been together for five years now. (Should be like Queen and AL have been together for over five years now. Google translator problem): another information that can be omitted. We all know that excluding Idol finale, the first time QAL happened was December 2012.
→ Adam Lambert auditioned with Queen’s song: we don’t need this information again.
And also, the writer put it in ( ) to give information to the general public about what she meant by "anyone who has watched AI."
[My original translation]
A. Feels like family. Feels like I’m home. Great opportunity, wonderful gift. Love Queen’s music, want to help the audience recall what an amazing person Freddie was, how amazing his spirit was. He’s also like a hero to me.
[Google translation]
A. I feel like a family now. I feel like I'm at home.
Being able to stand on a stage with a legendary band is a big opportunity and a gift. I really love their music and I want to help the audience remember how good Freddie Mercury was. His spirit.
I just try. Freddie Mercury is a big hero to me.
→ Being able to stand on a stage with a legendary band is: it’s just a long explanation of Queen.
→ I just try. (I just try my best with the job I have as a lead singer of Queen): We all know he does.

[My original translation]
Q. People say you were a role model, not just a star, on XFAU. Please give a message for those who want to be like Adam Lambert.
[Google translation]
Q. "I have grown up to be a role model beyond the stars," the article after the "The X Factor - Australia" is noticeable, not necessarily a musical part. Give a word of encouragement to those who are trying to become another Adam Lambert (that is, another). (Adam Lambert was selected as the main judge of the audition program "The X Factor - Australia" last year and won the mentee.)
[My new translation]
Q. After the X Factor Australia, I noticed
articles that say, “Adam Lambert has grown to be a role model, not just(? beyond?) a star.”
It’s okay if it (the word of encouragement) is not necessarily about music. Give a word
of encouragement to those who are trying to be the next Adam Lambert (=another Adam Lambert) (→ this is written like “Ariana Grande is the next Mariah Carey” sort of style).
(Adam Lambert was a judge on XFAU last year, and had his mentee win.)
→ It’s okay if it is not necessarily about music: The information that this interviewer said it’s okay if the message is not about music? We don’t really need to know that. All we need is Adam’s answer ;D
→ word ‘of encouragement’: of course it will be ‘of encouragement’ unless Adam is Noel Gallagher.
→ (Adam Lambert was a judge on XFAU last year, and had his mentee win.): We all know that, and the interviewer put this in ( ) just to let the general public know what “After the X Factor Australia, articles said~” meant.
[My original translation]
A. Nobody would try to be like me. I’m not important, do what you want to do. I can be an “example” to those who take a voyage to their own dreams. I believe the real meaning of success and happiness is in pursuing their own dreams. Find what you’ve always been wanting. Don’t listen to others, just follow your own heart.
[Google translation]
A. No one will try to be like me. I do not care, do what you want. I can be a 'yes'. To those who sail their dreams, the journey
of truth. I think that the real meaning of success and happiness lies in pursuing your own dreams. Find what you've been looking for all the time. I can not listen to anyone else. Just follow your heart.
→ of truth: I didn’t know that I forgot that part!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And the part that everyone is paying attention to:
[My original translation]
When can we expect your new album? Next year?
[Google translation]
Can I think about the new album next year?
[My new translation]
Can we expect your new album around(? about?) next year?
[My original translation]
A. 70~80% right.
[Google translation]
It's about 70 ~ 80%.
You know I want to go back to Korea![My new translation]
70~80% 정도 맞아요.
- 70~80%
- 정도 = about, to some extent, to some degree, somewhat
- 맞아요(conjugation of 맞다) = right, correct
→ You know I want to go back to Korea: I thought it was part of the answer for the question above, and nobody is interested in this information except me and maybe one or two of you.
So I guess we'll never know what he exactly said unless the interviewer gives us the recorded file
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And I’m not sure what @pattihum meant about the pronoun translation. But maybe this is what you meant?
다른 누구의 말을 들어서도 안 되죠. is a sentence in this interview.
I translated: don’t listen to others”
Google translated: I can not listen to anyone else.
다른 누구의 = anyone else
말을 = (what someone) say
s
들어서도 = listen
안 되죠. = cannot
So basically, there was no “You” or “I” in this Korean sentence.
Another example:
함께한 지도 어느덧 5년째네요.
I translated(well I omitted this part but): You(Queen and Adam Lambert) have already been together for 5 years now. (But I guess it should be 6 years)
Google translated: I've been together for five years now.
함께한 = together
지도 = have been
어느덧 = already
, it's been
5년째네요. = spent 5 years
This Korean sentence doesn’t have “they(Q+AL)” nor “I” or “you” or whatever.
Korean sentences have very different structures. (And that’s why I translate Spanish/Portugese/etc into English, not Korean. Those non-human translators do awful jobs) And many Korean sentences drop the subject. If you felt like all the pronouns were translated wrong, I think it’s probably because the non-human translator put whatever pronouns it wanted to put, just like Google translator did.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If anyone wants more specific translations for some parts, please let me know! I'm a university student having a nice winter break, so I have nothing really important to do
