UltimateClassicRock @ultclassicrock June 2017 saw a classic rock band nearly come apart, another one launch a major tour, and more: trib.al/ZbJGtDj In June 2017, we saw one of the biggest classic rock bands ever nearly come to a split, while another continued to repair the bonds with a former member. Elsewhere, a legend finally gained the rights to his songs, one group solidified under a new singer and a pair of reality television stars tried to equate themselves with rock royalty. Queen + Adam Lambert Begin North American Tour For only the second time since recruiting Adam Lambert in 2012, Queen mounted a North American tour, playing 25 cities in six weeks, beginning with a June 23 stop in Glendale, Ariz. Our review of their Cleveland date said that the band sounded fantastic and that Lambert was more than up to the task, while at the same time paying proper respect to Freddie Mercury. The production was equally spectacular, with a stage was designed to look like Brian May's famous Red Special guitar and an animated version of Frank, the robot featured on the cover of News of the World.

Yes, I'm voting every hour now. So far, so good. Stampsgal......did you ever get your Queen 3D book from Amazon? These slooooow days are sooooo slooooow. Guess I can slowly start taking my Christmas decorations down. How come it's no fun putting it all back up...lol. Each day going forward, I'm hoping to wake up to the news about Judas. I've already watched both movies twice and many other stage renditions on Youtube. I've just about memorized all of Judas' lyrics. Did you know that he appears in 8 songs.....4 features (about 18 minutes worth) and 4 partials (about 4 minutes worth). I didn't realize before I started watching that Judas sings the feature song "Superstar". Adam could go full out QAL frontman on that one. OK...I need to curb my enthusiasm and hold my horses. LOL My Queen 3D book has not arrived☹️. I was hoping to take it out of town for Christmas, to show it off/ allow family to view 😁 the images. I will keep checking our doorstep and the mail box. I erred ...then corrected myself in my posts. The dates it could arrive, were between Dec 19 and Jan 12. As I mentioned for whatever gobbly goob I quoted...what my billing basically said was--there was no tracking number due to the relationship between carrier services. I mean...are the services between US and Canadian services that different? I have not seen the full version of JCSuperstar, only a few youtubes. If Adam gets the part, I will dive into it. You are way into it!😍😁 The speculations of time for rehearsals makes me nervous. With Adam saying he is in the studio as much as possible in January...well, is he making conversation with Alan Carr, or going to work on the album and rehearse?? Oh this waiting game!

Well, heck stampsgal. Maybe it'll eventually come in. I haven't opened mine up yet...will soon.
After hearing he'll be in the studio in Jan working on his own music...which is wonderful news....I too was a little concerned about him having enough time to work on Judas. But.....he's a fast learner and maybe they'll have teleprompters for lyrics just in case...lol. Now, getting the look and outfits just right might take a little time and thought. lol He'll give it his full attention when the time comes.

Now, getting the look and outfits just right might take a little time and thought. lol He'll give it his full attention when the time comes. I wish everybody here happy (late) holidays! I got the Queen in 3D book for Christmas and I have to say that I‘ve never thought, that these little 3D pictures would really work for me! It’s great!!! When I‘m watching 3D-Films in the cinema I often have problems: I either see double pics swimming before my eyes or I see 3D and get a headache. But these pics work just fine. As for JCS: I‘m still scepical, because of the schedule. But from all Adam has hinted, he should have it nevertheless. I just don’t know, how they will do it. (I have to add that Adam’s schedule fits much better than John‘s. Just together it doesn’t fit at all.) As for learning the lyrics: He must know them before the rehearsals start. When you start to work in a musical without knowing the lyrics, you usually had a job 😉. And I doubt that he would have much to say about the costumes: these will be given to him. (Although knowing Adam he might have a little thing to add or change here or there. But generally it’s not his job.) So no time-problem here. Musicals need so much time for rehearsals, because it’s teamwork. There are almost in every scene more than one person on stage plus the involved musicians and tech-people. The actors must sing, act and dance often at the same time. All usually on one stage with changing set-ups. It’s dangerous on a big stage, where usually one or two people have the job to watch that nobody is at a wrong place in the wrong moment ( for instance when a big „wall“ comes from above, or a hole in the floor opens). It’s a lot that the actors have to learn! But I don’t know, how JCS will be set up. It could be a much more reduced stage. And I actually have never completely seen this particular musical ( just about 20 others, some with backstage tours). So maybe Adam and John are fine with just a little time of rehearsals in February and then the full production rehearsals in the last week of March.

For those, who are interested in the timeframe of setting up a musical, this is what I‘ve learned about it: - First block: the (already casted) actors (aka singers) and musicians come together and learn to do the songs together. This part takes very long for new musicals, but can be very short for established ones (if you have actors, who already did them and you don’t want to change them up). - second block: when the songs are learned, they come to life. That means for every single scene the acting (often while singing) and dancing with everyone involved is developed and rehearsed. ( this part usually takes the longest time!). -Third block: the stage should be ready by now. So the show can be completely rehearsed on stage, where everybody must learn, where he has when to be (or not). Depending on how complicated the stage and the whole show is , this can take a few weeks or only a few days. -Last block: full production rehearsals: the whole crew (actors in costumes, musicians, technical crew and so on) rehearse everything together. All in all takes usually 2-3 months for a new production. But it might be possible to schedule the rehearsals in a way, that all scenes with Judas are rehearsed , when Adam is available. John‘s scenes though must be rehearsed, before he leaves for his concerts in March. The last few days would be production rehearsals. Do Jesus and Judas have many scenes together? Then it would be really tricky. Maybe someone, who knows JCS can answer that question.
