My thoughts on the video? Beyonce is GORGEOUS and her body is bangin and her hair is Pantene commercial worthy. But I HATE THE SONG. She sings the hell out of it but it's boring and just kinda....is there. Nice but not single worthy imo. There's nothing that really grabs you and makes you want to sing the song all day or anything. But I def get the "hypnotic" comment. Yes to all of the above. I was wondering how to bring this up and ta da, today the video and Adam's tweet. I purchased the CD last Tuesday because I have been on the road some and I heard the music was a bit of a throwback to Motown/bluesy/gospelly stuff and I liked the sound of that, plus I think Beyonce has a great voice. Anyway, I was underwhelmed. The songs are "so . . . so!" ( bridget ) The best description that I could come up with for the whole album was awkward. Her voice is often pushed, there is random choral harmony, her riffs are often old school diva melisma (which I do not like) but with odd notes removed making it jarring, and she intersperses trained vocal diction with "ghetto?" slang. Awkward and random. I was disappointed. I was curious which song they would use as a second single because none seemed really current Top 40, which in itself is not a bad thing, but I would like to have seen Beyonce make additional rips in the Top 40 fabric in preparation for Adam #2. The video is great though and totally enhances and explicates the song. I like it when a video actually relates to the song and this video shows that simple done right can be more exciting than an overload of imagery, no matter how artistic or culturally referenced when it is unrelated to the content. GaGa, I am looking at you.

I've been waiting for Q3 to chime in about the timing of the single and the album. I know nothing about the PR for music hits. But, here is my uneducated thinking.
If Adam is only going to have one single released before the album, and he is gonna have the album released around black Friday, wouldn't releasing the single now be a little too early? Mid-October (which is close enuf with Adam's math) seems like a good amount of time before the album comes out.
We thought he would want to get a single out before the deadline of the Grammy nominations. However, the original thought that it would be mid-September is really pushing it for the Grammy deadline. WWFM took some time to build momentum and be recognized as Grammy worthy. Might the new single not have enuf traction for the Grammys, letting critics say, "Yeah, Lambert had one Grammy nomination, but his new single didn't earn one. His first was a fluke." Someone wrote that the GNT DVD could be up for a Grammy this year, and I would love to see that happen. Then, singles and album up for next year. A consistent presence of excellence.
That's my totally ignorant perspective. It may be totally wrong, but it helps me accept that we have to wait some more for new music.

EEEEk Durbin!
Got my gas, my cash & my wine so all set for Irene. A little skeered about big ass trees falling on my car that I just got 2 months ago. Nothing I can do about it - so gonna relax. Good tips on twitter & here - sugaree: didn't know about cracking a couple of windows. Will do.
It took a few hours for the WTF-edness about Nov single to pass. But pass it did. Mostly. As long as it's what Adam wants and RCA isn't screwing him I'm ok. Wonder what RCAED will have to say about this? Haha
I know this Lambossed vid has been posted here & most of you have seen it. There is an old song called "I Fall in Love with You Every Day". This is how I'm feeling lately and especially when I watch this video. Is there ANYONE would could watch it and NOT love him? In a word - no!
