I like her too but I'm not liking the craziness. It gets on my nerves after a while. Hope once the teams are finalized it'll be more about the singers. Sadly, the Voice is never about the contestants and always about the judges. Feel badly for the singers. At least Idol pretends the contestants are the focus.... Really? Since the year AI started hiring “big names” it became about the judges imo. And incidentally it is at the same time AI stopped producing any kind of “stars”...but in the end the biggest winner happened to be Seacrest ...an interesting twist i’d say...

That’s all true but I can’t name any Voice winners. I can name winners and runner ups from Idol.

I really like Kelly but boy has she been HYPER on the Voice... I usually try not to watch because I can't take the show.. But Kelly is a bit of a draw for me,because she's a bit of a wild woman LOL I like her too but I'm not liking the craziness. It gets on my nerves after a while. Hope once the teams are finalized it'll be more about the singers. Agree, the show was already tedious but her shtick just makes it totally unwatchable.

I see this less of an issue for the artists at this very moment. More a US wide issue, in that the radio media landscape is already very lop-sided, conservative leaning. With one of the strongholds on the potentially more liberal side struggling and vulnerable to buy-outs, a information monopoly becomes another step closer. Obviously, i-heart has always supported both Adam as well as Queen. Hope they can come through those bankruptcy proceedings intact and free to report and play what they want to. While I have no insight why they are struggling so much more, where other more conservative leaning stations seem to be financially thriving, I have my suspicions and I don't like them at all. As we all know, payola is officially forbidden, but apparently some money is flowing somewhere somehow, with radio stations on the receiving end of that stream. I have observed since a while, that Russian oligarchs have a strange newfound love interest for music labels. Oligarchs have money to spend. In fact, they need places to put their money and get it into circulation. But if besides their interest to place their money, there now is also a strategic interest to place the money to some radio organizations more than others, them this could have much bigger implications for the US media landscape than just the career of my or our personal snowflake. Sorry for not having better news. =============

Idol was more about the contestants even when they started to hire celebrity judges. The reason they stopped producing stars was because the viewers became set on choosing the same type of bland winners who were not star material. Then a lot of people just stopped watching or caring and the press was not interested. The press rarely mentions anyone past Adam and those before him. It was as if Idol stopped existing after season 8, lol. After that point, the only one thriving was Seacrest cause he had so many different types of deals and opportunities going on.

Josh is very popular & add Idina in and I think it is an arena worthy line up! I don't know who Idina is, but I assume she is very good. My dream is to see Adam headline an arena show performing his own music. Or something darn close. Ouch, my broadway stan heart. Idina was the original Maureen in Rent and Elphaba in Wicked, sang the Superbowl National Anthem in 2015. She and Josh played opposite each other in a concert Chess in London (with Kerry Ellis) and he was in her PBS concert as a guest. And she was Elsa in Frozen re "Let It Go".. Three original albums under her belt too, although not nearly as successful as her theater and acting career. She's on WB as well. and who could forget Adele Dazeem?

I was so heart broken when Adam didn't win I never watched again. He was the favorite for weeks and something went wrong. Don't know what but I really felt he got screwed. He went on and did fantastic anyway but I was done!

I like The Voice. And none of these shows are about the contestants, it is not to find a "star", it is a form of entertainment. If it was about the contestants Simon Cowell wouldn't have become a star. Water cooler moments were as much about what he said as it was about the singing. If it was about the best singer, Adam would have won. Since then I just watch these shows for the entertainment. I will never have another horse in the race since the race is usually rigged. Either by the producers and how they package the contestants or by the idiot people voting

Just to give you some idea how invested I was in Adam, I was driving across the country from Wisconsin to Colorado, to Nevada and then Arizona with my aging mother because I wanted her to see some of America. She was from Canada and had never seen much here. Anyway, to make my point, I made sure we were checked in to our hotel room every night by 7:00 so we could watch the show. I never missed a night of voting!
