Q3 and Bamafan. Thanks very much for providing additional information about where Adam was walking Pharoah. You both provide valuable contributions to this forum, and Q3, thanks for all you do in so many aspects of keeping things running smoothly! I will not make any further comments about Adam and Pharoah; instead, I will limit my discussions about dogs to breed forums, personal discussions, etc.... I do, however, stand by my beliefs and opinions. In retrospect, I should have probably just have kept my mouth shut, as the major discussion—so informative from those of you who know so much—was Adam and PhillyMack. Everyone, please forgive the atrocious writing in the previous post. A bush is starting to bloom here that causes allergic reactions galore for me, so it is Benadryl time! 🤧 Again, thanks to everyone who adds so much to keep this forum lively, fun, and educational! I hope that Vegas residency comes true! A very short flight from where I live.... Hurrah if true....very sad if not.... I hope you feel better!! It's my first Spring in Tucson and we have record pollen levels. I have been allergy crying all day. Regarding my Pharaoh/Adam comment, I just wanted to explain what it is like where he was walking. I used to live right near there and it is a place were people pretty much just walk in the middle of the street if you know what I mean.

There has been an update on Adam's info on the Edge site: edgepublicity.co.uk/client/adam-lambert/"Adam is spending 2018 recording his fourth album, exploring the world of film and TV, all in between touring the world with Queen. New music will be released later this year… watch this space." Film and TV. This is going to be interesting. Or do they count RuPaul? I think "exploring" is a signal that he is open to/discussing things that are not yet announced. But to me the really exciting part is "New music will be released later this year… watch this space." That sounds definite!!! Not soonish or some other vague term.

"number one hits are purchased." It's all about the commitment to promotion and pushing your product (whatever it is) onto the marketplace. That's why given the perfect set of circumstances, just about anything can be a "hit." So agree. Waiting for that perfect song only sounds good. Songs that are pushed and played excessively can become hits. Up-tempo or ballad from the right person. I think even with streaming, those who get on the right and biggest playlists have a bigger chance. Adam has produced some incredible music that many don't hear. If only more genres could operate the way country does, there would be more #1s or hits. They almost rotate songs out weekly and sometimes hold one song up long enough to let another make it. Then it is the next guys turn at the plate. But it helps their artists to be able to rattle off the number of hit songs they have. It is amazing. Almost all the males (even ones you have barely heard of) seem to get at least one #1. And a few top females and many top males see pretty much everything they release hit #1. But I am excited to see what exposure and opportunities Philymack can come up with for Adam. He is a unique and powerful talent so looking forward to see what he brings for A4.

I take it we are going to have a song or two out this year and the album next year. I think he makes a clear distinction between “music” and “album”. The intention of going after TV and film is so WONDERFUL to see in writing! It made my day! Very, very, very exciting!

Thank you! This is the one I was talking about! He is so damn cute. I have so much Adam stuff in my brain, I can't believe it. It just makes me feel Turtleneck-A-Licious!

We have a running joke in our house about country music. Whenever we see an ad on TV for the next country music awards show, we shout, "Not ANOTHER one!" There are so many country music awards shows, it isn't even funny. No wonder those singers have scads of awards. It's like if there were five or six Grammy Awards or Oscars every year. Kind of waters it down, IMO. BUT, I totally get your point, lurleene. The country music industry is a well-oiled machine. It embraces new talent like family and it uses more of a "group" performance approach when it comes to promoting them. Even the top names in country often tour in big groups. They seem to think of themselves as one huge entity with sub-sets within the whole. They have huge stars who make millions. Some cross over into the pop genre, but I think most don't. It is far more lucrative (and safer) to stay within the country realm. JMO of course. On the other hand, I see the pop music world as much more cutthroat. It's more "every man for himself." Sure, there are some collabs and some "team tours," but I think more pop stars tend to go it alone. Unlike country stars, the very top pop singes don't tour together as a group. It's rare anyway. I know that record labels support their artists and try to maximize sales. Just seems to me that compared to country, pop singers have more of a competitive tension within the genre. Adam once said in an interview, "There's room for everybody." I'm not so sure about that. Singers are always clamoring up the ladder trying to get to #1 and few make it. People get bumped off the ladder all the time. Country music is an American musical juggernaut.

that picture of Adam in the blue turtleneck IS cute! BLUNT of Adam to post the words he underlined in the book. Clear opinion on the business. As for the new management: Yes the bio is poorly written but I'm 100% sure Adam knows the business and knows what he's doing, did his research and didn't take this step lightheartedly. girldrummer your last post made me laugh. Whenever Adam says he's not much on country in my head I go: "WHAT! You don't like Crystal Gale??!!!" But I figure for some Americans country is what "Schlager" (Helene Fischer for example (Adam has sung with her)) and the likes to Germany. It used to be something for people like my grandma and now it's this cross-generational thing. I just can't deal with it. I can imagine those songs are BEAUTIFUL to sing, but I just can't listen to them. Not that artists in that genre aren't GREATLY talented. I think Helene Fischer is VERY talented but she sings everything in the SAME DAMN WAY! To give and idea of how big Schlager is said Helene Fischer is touring 13 cities in Germany with 5 shows on 5 consecutive nights in each city (read that her stage takes 30h to set up). There is ALWAYS a "Schlager-Show" on TV. The same show was once broadcast on THREE channels at the same time. P.S.: On a topic long passed: I absolutely fell down the rabbit hole with Call me by your name. Armie Hammer and Timothy Chalomet are such sweethearts! They are so funny, smart, intelligent and entertaining in interviews. The movie is beautiful of course. Downloaded the e-book and read it almost in one sitting. Parts of it were like I would imagine 50 shades to be written. ^^...The ending of the book is SO strong. It hit me really hard.

It hit me really hard. while he almost certainly reflects and appreciates the sentiments, he did not underline the words in the book. That is an art installation of someone’s take of a book of satire and provocation. Here: news.artnet.com/opinion/frances-stark-whitney-900266 and here: www.theguardian.com/music/2017/apr/24/frances-stark-magic-flute-dj-quikis a bit more info.
