What a great thread!! Thanks for all the stunningly brilliant comments. I love this quote!! Bono really is a visionary and I think Adam will get there too. One of my favorite Bono quotes is " Dream up the world you want to live in, dream out loud at high volume". Never saw that before but I will never forget it!! Regarding Adam and vocal range -- one think I am convinced of -- what is amazing about Adam is not the range of frequencies he hits, it is the way he can change one note so many ways -- even the same note in the same song. When he changes up these notes -- it is not a random occurrence -- it is done with intention to create a desired effect. I remember at one GNT concert he hit a high note on WLL and you could see him watching someone in the audience and literally twist that note around to create some kind of erotic effect. IMVHO it is the control of all the attributes of the notes that gives him so much power as a vocalist. |

Do you mean Caroline Cossey (aka Tula)? She worked as a model and actress, including a role in "For Your Eyes Only", and was then "outed" by the now-defunct "News of the World" (ugh). Here's her wiki page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caroline_CosseySounds like it could be her but I couldn't find a picture. I think I would remember what she looked like because I thought she was stunningly beautiful. I remember they showed pictures of her as a boy at about 17 and except for being dressed in boys clothes and being flat chested she didn't look any different. |

HELLO ALL FROM BLACK ROCK CITY!
Been listening to some great jazz from the camp across the road . . . and watching the sun find its way to the western horizon. Such a beautiful evening. I can see a crane on the Playa - someone is filming the ebb and flow of the Burners as they move like colonized ants from work of art to work of art; display to display; interactive creation to interactive creation; marveling at every one; then pedaling off, or climbing a mutant vehicle to another reach of neverland.
I am the only Topian here, as far as I know. I just can't be the only Adam fan. We played a disc of Adam's music (thank you Adamrocks!) and his voice settles the dust. Well, at least the dust in me.
There is a question of how Adam will get here - - - and he WILL get here, I truly believe! He wants Sauli to have this experience; which is a new legend in Europe, per the people I've met this week, from London and Greece and Italy - - and Finland!!
There is an airport - - - extending from 4:30, if you're familiar with the layout of Black Rock City. I would surmise it's the best way to come in now - since the wait at the automobile gates is about 4 hours.
I will quietly Ninja . . . I just can't help it. This colony is huge and full of free, costumed spirits. I'll look for the one who has my soul. If he's here, I'm hoping to know it.
By the way - I am home in dusty Paradise; wishing for the words that could tell you more.
