Translating the tutka videos must be especially challenging. thank you for doing this and also including video links, etc. I watched "Frontside Ollie" what a cute kid. i was amazed at the number of views for the video (also that dislike and like were about 50-50) Is he a well known pop sensation in finland like bieber? Also the point in Tutka where we think adam giggles, Katri has just discussed at length some episode regarding black humor and Sauli makes a cute little face, almost like an eyeroll when adam laughs. what are they talking about here? Do you think Adam understands more of the language now or do you think he was amused by Sauli's adorable reaction? once again, thanks ever so much for what you do for us! Tutka's are very time consuming for us, that's the hardest part . But they for sure don't make it too easy for us otherwise either! LOL And you are welcome, we do our best . Robin Packalen is new to me, but seems to be really popular now. He is cute, has umpteen number his own music vids singing covers on youtube too + this official one. He is talented, hoping for a great future to him. On Tutka Katri is lengthily and very seriously talking and Sauli is listening and getting maybe a bit bored, rolls his eyes and then there's that giggle and Sauli's instant cracking up smile. I very much doubt Adam would understand their talk, he probably knows some simple sentences (understands them if not able to say himself) and knows some words and greetings. So I think it's S:s expression that caused the giggle. twitpic.com/8bf4vx The giggle link :D

Thanks again for the translation!!! I have a question about how it works to vote in a Finnish election from outside the country. Do you have something like absentee ballots, like we do in the U.S?
It seems like Sauli implied that he would have to go somewhere to vote. Does that mean he has to vote at the Finnish Consulate?

I can answer this question since I will also vote here in the US in the presidential election on Saturday. Sauli needs to go to the Finnish consulate in LA to vote. Voting is possible on certain dates before the actual election. It is like absentee ballot in that sense that the voting takes place before the actual election date in Finland. But you have to be there in person, you can't do it via mail.

Thanks, Maria1! That's a lot of effort, but sounds like Sauli is inspired in this election. It's kind of sweet how he doesn't say who he's going to vote for. Sounds like he hasn't been very interested in politics much, kind of like Adam, but the candidates (his name-sake and a gay man) caused him to take notice. Cool! And no, Mys*&@^#r50, I've never used a slow cooker. I don't like to cook and try to avoid it if at all possible.

Yes, it's a lot of effort. That's why I have skipped voting in Finnish elections for the past years. But I'm going this Saturday, even if it's my birthday and the trip will take a few hours. We have seen in these particular elections that younger people are getting very involved. They are even called Facebook elections, there so much activity in social media. Also many people working in entertainment and media have been very involved. There's a huge benefit concert for the gay candidate on next Monday that was put together in a few days. Sauli has probably been swept into all of this by his friends and Finnish colleagues.
Finns are big on keeping it to themselves who they voted for in elections. Not even family members always tell each other. Like my dad has never, ever told me or my siblings who he has voted, not even the party (we have several parties in Finland). So it doesn't surprise me that Sauli is not telling.

miachui I saw that Sauli answered your post on todays blog! (The HB Adam one) Would you mind telling us what you posted and what he replied?
Thanks! Great to see all the love Sauli got on his blog today. That one nasty poster must be a Tommy shipper, no other explanation for it. Ugly, ridiculous, stupid, hateful, and most of all sad. Glad to see everyone else standing up for Sauli!

Glad to see everyone else standing up for Sauli! Zinnia and I are right now translating all the comments to which Sauli replied and his answers, and we'll post the translation to SC. We'll post a message and a link to the News thread when it's ready - should't take long now. And yes, the comments in Sauli's blog are mostly positive, but as usual, there's always a rotten apple or a two there... But he knows it and knows how to deal with it.

You come home and dinner is ready! Mia and Zinia, love that Sauli acknowledged the translations again!! I wonder if you should put something at the beginning of every translation asking people to click on Sauli's site too. I'm sure the amount of hits he gets matters. For the Tutka's too.
