THANKS BELLE...I transferred my comments to this thread!!! I so agree with you savvy92. )What a great start! And as you say....I think the presentation factor/adorable smiles/casual fun routine, got them some points. Agree with Vivilite too...he can do better, and he has in practice. The nerves have been tested on night one for everyone, so now they still need to keep up the tricks. It is also more challenging for Sauli to do lifts, when his partner is close to the same weight as him (plus his edging still needs work for the safety of Nea!) They will figure things out. I hope they check out some of the moves from youtubes of Battle of the Blades ...in Canada...and other countries DOI. Some grand ideas out there. One month to do one routine...now a week to do routine two. Go Sauli and Nea!!!

Sauli is so darn adorable. That smile will get you every time. Isn't that the truth? When I posted, I was not dissing Sauli..just so you all know. He had a bad case of nerves and that is to be expected. First time on TV and there were blips. It happens. He IS a better skater. We've seen this on his training vids. It's another thing to be in front of a TV audience and not training on a rink in relative obscurity. Belle was kind to translate his interview and he mentioned the easy moves were the ones that were bumpy. I've so seen this before. One's focus goes toward the more difficult moves and oopsie..you miss the easier movements. I remember one pro skating competition where a skater fell on a simple glide. And went on to do triple axels no problem. Lapse in focus and nerves. I skated for a drill team once upon a time and I was SO nervous our first night out, I forgot to take my skate guards off! Slowed everyone up..I was mortified. Now Sauli has a taste of what the live show is about. I loved the routine..it was playful and the lifts and balance moves were so well-done. Nea and Sauli have great chemistry together which, I gather, the judges liked as well. Nea has done such a wonderful job being Sauli's partner! I hope that they continue to be happy with their skating. In the end, that is what truly counts. (And Sauli is quite the competitor..in the very best way!) Such a classy pair! Belle pointed out to me that they were wearing the blue and white of Finland with a red scarf as a nod to the US. It didn't enter my brain at all..I was sweating bullets while I watched the youtube..lol... Very dear. It has begun!!!! #teamSauliNea

Last night was so much fun! Sauli did so well considering he had one of the most demanding choreographies. Also, one of the guy contestants fell! Still a bit shaky but all in all Sauli did really well and the judges also gave him credit for doing a waltz jump in first show.

I stood next to Ben Agosta once and was astounded by how tiny he is! He was just an inch or two taller than me and I'm 5'3". His Wicki says he's 5' 9" but there is no way that that can be true. Maybe that's his height with skates on!

illuxxia @illuxxia Sauli n P a r a s K a v e r i ep 3 http://you tu.be/vCcdoPe7mOs I have just watched the FULL YouTube of Saulin-Paras-Kaveri epidode 3 - Las Vegas (all 42 minutes of it) and I enjoyed it totally - even though I don't understand a word of FINNISH. Sauli has such an fun, easy-going, natural and likeable boy-next-door style that kept me engaged through the whole show without me understanding a lot of what everyone was saying ( there is a bit of English spoken) Mind you, there was a lot of eye candy in the show with the Male Review - Chippendales - being featured. I have posted the video here for those who might like to "thumb" through it - I think you might enjoy it as is !! I'm sure there will be a translation when our over-worked duo, Mia and Zinnia can get to it. There are so many shows to review !!

Yes, Zinnia and I are working on the summary of the third episode right now. As with the two previous ones, we will not do a full translation but just a summary of the program - we hope that it is enough to give you an idea about what's happening in it. Doing a full translation of it would reallu be quite a task - even for two crazies like us! :D We'll post it as soon as we can!

Thanks for posting the video....I dunno why...but I also watched 40 some minutes in another language just to see Sauli and Sami. They seem to engage and communicate easily...lots of banter between the two.
Sauli's voice seemed different when he was speaking with the manager in English.....was that just my imagination or is his Finnish "voice" the same????

Thanks ladyoz for the video. Though I live in Finland, I never saw this one earlier. Sauli Center is a great place!

Sauli is one of the most lovable celebrities I have ever seen. When I look at him, I see the word "fun". He calls himself a little rascal, and that he is.
I teared up when I saw him skate so well. I know he has suffered from panic attacks in the past, and I could relate to his nerves. Plus it was the first appearance for him in front of the TV. I was delighted to see him so happy he did so well. He just glowed. (He has such great skin. I am envious) Congratulations to Sauli Koskinen. I am sure he will place somewhere high in this competition, and we are all behind him 100%. I won't tear up anymore when Sauli skates. I will just smile back at his smile. When I see him, I always smile for some reason.
