You guys - I'm lookin, I'm looking!!! Just returned to our camper for a change of costume - then back out to the Playa. We have been part of the Trojan Horse project all year - and, tonite, we led the procession thru the 'gates of Troy' on the Playa to where the behemoth will burn at midnight. DH is 'Dionysis' and had a huge cadre of nymphs and satyrs - and his goddess wife to accompany him. No one had an idea the horse would move so easily - - I mean, it's 28 tons! It flew across the Playa, and we literally had to run from its path! Now, we have a couple of hours to fill before the burn. Earlier today we removed the 'bar' - the place of absinthe and darkness - and filled it with wood and accelerants. At midnight, archers will send flaming arrows into the horse, and it will burn well. I'm typing to a pulsation from the Playa. Too fast for a heartbeat. The quickened pulse of exquisite excitement! Have to go - you cannot believe how my radar is scanning for that gorgeous tall man with the square shoulders and purposeful gait - accompanied by the acrobatic cutie pie. Burning Man needs Adamtopians!! We are there! In heart and spirit and watching this event! So excited you checked in!

I just wanna hear Adam sing the true blood theme song now (come on Sauli, tape him!) True Blood theme song FTW! Here is my choice (at least for now) for an Adam cover: PS. I am loving Foster the People and Parlotones. Thanks! actually with a few gender substitutions in the lyrics and a much rawer and harder backup band sound I'd love to hear this as a live encore in some alternate universe I have weird fantasies when I'm driving. And every.single.time this song has come on the radio during the last couple of years, I imagine one of those scenarios where a fan is invited on stage and has to sing something for Adam--at a concert or a radio promo kind of thing, my fantasy's a little fuzzy about the circumstance--and someone (okay, maybe it's someone like me in my fantasy, 'cause in my fantasies I suddenly have singing ability) sings this song to him. And I've dreamed about Adam performing "Magic Man," too! It would be hot. Seems like this song is made for him. I also sometimes imagine someone (ahem) singing to him Lauryn Hill's version of "Killing Me Softly." I would love to hear Adam sing something soulful and funky on the new CD. I hope there are at least one or two tracks like that on the album. And yes to the blues, seoulmate! Other than that I truly don't have many preferences or expectations for the new CD. I'm enjoying the unknown and all the possibilites because he's so capable of doing so many things. Also, I listen to and love some songs from almost every genre of music (except maybe rap and heavy metal, and I haven't heard enough opera to know if I really like it or not), so the style of music on the upcoming CD isn't a concern for me. I know Adam probably wants a more consistent style on the album this time around, but I hope it's at least a little bit eclectic. I'm obsessed with some new piece of music every week, though I don't abandon old favorites for new ones. I rarely listen to the radio anymore, except in the car, but I'm always seeking out new music through streams or blogs or music reviews. The past few days' obsession came from an interview with Kelly Clarkson that I read last week, in which she recommended a song by Pistol Annies called "Hell on Heels" (totally not ERA-friendly, but still sorta badass in its own way). I also really like the video. I listened to the rest of their album and didn't really care for any of the other songs (I'm not much of a country music fan), but I've had this one song on repeat. I've also been obsessed for the past few weeks with an awesome version that I recently discovered of "Sugaree" by Chris Robinson (who has one of my desert isle voices). (Hey, sugaree, nowadays every time I see your username I start singing. ) And Foster the People's album has been in heavy rotation. "Pumped Up Kicks" is addictive! Of the new music that's been released this year, the albums by Adele, Amos Lee, Jill Scott, Brett Dennen, Beyonce, and Depeche Mode are a few of the ones that have withstood the test of my obsessive, repeat playing, LOL. When it was released, I listened to FYE several times a day, every day for about three months straight 'cause the album was like a mood-altering drug and just made me happy. I was listening to it again recently and I thought, Adam sounds so young! I love that Adam is so confident about his new music. I want the end result to be as amazing as he dreams it will be, but I'm also happy for him that the process of making the music seems to have been such a wonderful experience. And I'm jazzed that everyone who's working on the CD or has heard it seems equally excited. I just wish they'd stop with the pooping imagery, though. Not pleasant. I agree, nica, "Broken Open" is pure poetry. ETA: Oh, and since we're kinda off-topic today anyway, I just wanted to take a moment to pimp out Arnold McCuller's jazzy/bluesy CD, Soon As I Get Paid. I've heard him many times singing backup with James Taylor and Lyle Lovett and Bonnie Raitt, but I'd never heard him do his own stuff before (he has older albums--I've just never heard them). This CD was mostly fan financed through a PledgeMusic campaign and I don't think he has much promotion other than word of mouth. I stumbled on an AOL stream of the CD last spring and it's definitely one of my favorites this year! tinyurl.com/http-www-myspace-com-arno

Is this the first year they've had a live stream for burning man? I don't think so. The people in chat have said this is the best live stream they've ever had.

OMG Melanieeeeeeeeee!!!! Love her! Yup, those lyrics are ridiculous, but such a fun song. And on a totally different track, she sings what is probably the most angsty song ever created, appropriately titled The Saddest Thing. I once listened to this song on repeat for two hours straight, lol.

I don't think so. The people in chat have said this is the best live stream they've ever had. This is fascinating to watch. Now I'll have to try and stay awake for the burning of the Horse!
