When I see Adam on these UK shows and events, it is such a great reminder that he is a worldwide mainstream act, celebrity and star. Not the biggest in the world but it is still very difficult for most to reach his level of success, acknowledgement and financial security. And he is looking so good with all this promotion and exposure.

Allison's voice is like nails on a chalkboard for me....can't stand it. I'm another one that can't understand a word she sings, it all comes out as mush. In all fairness though, I'm not a big fan of women's voices in general, with a few exceptions. I think one of my very favorite female singers is Lara Fabian. She gives me goose bumps. She's soooo amazing....her voice is crystal clear, like a bell. I hate to say it, but I agree. Her voice has never been appealing to me. It's just an unintelligible harsh rasp.

And once again, I can understand about 1/4 of the words Alison sings. Common complaint for me with young pop singers (side eye to Ariana Grande especially because I think she has a superb voice). Maybe it's my hearing failing. But, also once again, thank you to Mr Adam Fucking Lambert, The Whole Package, whose every word is clear to me. #exquisitedictionandenunciation Last night coming home from Houston my son asked if he could put on some music. I said sure but make it peppy because it was "After Hours" and we were on a little "night drive" He listens to a lot of music from many regions; Finnish, Eastern European, Japanese, et al and so with the first selection I asked him who it was and in what language was she singing and he said ... wait for it ... English. He then looked her up and she was American. lol

And he is looking so good with all this promotion and exposure. Exactly right. He's not considered just a singer. He is thought of as a personality, someone who is fun to have on a TV show. Someone who is smart and quick and entertaining. I love it when he is on shows just to talk or joke or play games or cook or taste liquor. I just wish it would happen more often in the US and not just in other countries. US TV doesn't know what it's missing. I know he's done SOME US TV, but he sure would be a great guest on lots of shows we've never seen him on, at least lately. And no, I don't think he has to have a new song coming out in order to be on a show. I hope we see him more when the official word comes out about the animated film.

svca, thanks for the Lara Fabian tip. I watched this:
and was reminded again of the power of the audience reception to color the singer's performance. She is so moved by their response.
And one of my favorite female singers of all time:
