listened to Freddie....I have to say that I like Adam's voice better, there is something in the timber, this velvet quality that resonates with me and is lacking in Freddie's voice... Adam needs to find his own signature "sound"...I wonder if Adam#2 will have the brginnings of it....hoping.... . Freddie is a rock legend. There is no denying. One of a kind. SHHHHHHH. Don't tell anyone, but, technically, Adam has the better voice. His control is much more consistent. Freddie has notes that sound great, and notes that sound a bit "off," not totally on pitch or fully supported, a little wobbly at times. As far as timbre is concerned, I, too, much prefer Adam's. I agree that there is a richness and depth, a fullness, to Adam's tone, where Freddie's is sharper, more brittle, if you know what I mean? Adam's voice feels better to me. People's preferred timbre is a matter of taste, I guess. A bit like people's preference of color palates. It would be great if Adam were to perform a collection of Freddie's songs so we could compare directly, but I doubt Adam is interested. And he probably wouldn't dare touch the legend. As for wanting Adam to have a "signature sound" I think he already has. Not in genre, certainly, but, I can always identify Adam's voice by that unique timbre and technical ability. IMO. |

OT but maybe a sign of what will happen for Adam with his fifth album...or maybe his next single (plea to the radio gods!! I have decided logic does not apply to radio.) Kelly's new single was released mid-week last week. Does not go for adds until next week but has 23 auto adds and is Top 30 HAC, Top 40 AC, Top 50 Pop right now. RCA is only going for adds on Pop, they know HAC and AC will follow. where did you hear that RCA is only going for adds on Pop? According to AllAccess Kelly's single goes for ADDS on Pop Sept 13 and on HAC on the 12th. It's current chart position: #47 on Pop with +502 spins and a 3 million AI #29 on HAC with +493 spins and 3 million AI #36 on AC with +34 spins and .9 million AI It went for sale on itunes at midnight and without an ad it's at #93 on pop so far. It's off to a good start. Kelly is an established radio staple. Hopefully Adam will get a similar reception with his lead single for album #2. |

Waking up to news that Adam was definitely at Burning Man is awesome!!!! My gut feeling was yes; it made so much sense for him time-wise and where he is in his life right now. I figured we had no reported sightings because, 1) the place is huge, 2) he blended in pretty well, 3) people who are there focus on the event, not interacting on social media, 4) the philosophy is all about community, not celebrity, so it would be kind of against the "rules" to "out" someone who was there just doing their thing. Now that people are heading back, I'm sure we'll hear more about him being there. Ideally, Adam will write a nice lengthy twitlonger about the experience with plenty of details, and Sauli will include a ton of pics of the two of them in his next blog. Hey, a gal can dream, right? :  And sending thoughts to Texas and hopes for rain. Please stay safe, Texans! Sigh...at best we'll get a lovely cropped pic of Sauli....at worse a pic of the actual Burning Man |

Thanks for the reminder!! For some reason I was thinking the 5th was Tuesday!
Kelly and RCA are also doing something with this single that a few artists have done recently, releasing on a Monday. Gives the song one extra day of sales for those first week figures. I think it's smart. Why release on Tuesday and waste a day of the first full week for sales figures?

I'm a bit confused about the Greatest Song voting. I'm sure I didn't go through 9 pages before it thanked me for completing. Also the songs seem to be in rough alphabetical order and I only got as far as the L's. Looking back at page 1 there's a lot of titles I didn't get to vote for.

Momtomany, I choose to believe you DID see them! Just another joyful possibility in ten days FULL of joy and possibility, no doubt...
We'll probably get zero pics of them from BM and we may never hear Adam's original song for Brooke, but that's okay. Just knowing those two things happened makes me happy!
AMW, I will do a dorky (but POWERFUL) rain dance for Texas today. Really hoping you all get some relief soon.

Radio formats and shit always make me go ROO?!? Yeah and it would be weird if they only targeted pop....I would think the adult contemporary stations would play the hell out of Kelly...so yeah.
