This is so true. Adam really opened my mind to alternative lifestyles and sexualities. As the lyrics go in one of his songs "We could go far, with our minds wide open". Adam Lambert really was the true trailblazer in 2009. His run on Idol and his performance at the AMAS. Were the defining moment in pop culture for LGBT Artists. You had your Elton Johns, and George Michaels. But I Felt Adam was really the one who kicked the door down. He was over the top, sexual, adrogynis. And he owned it. But he also was relatable. And in 2009 his performance really sent a shockwave through the entire music and entertainment industry. I consider it one of the most influential performances in music history. For its impact ova the nxt decade. But it seems in 2018 their are still the sam predjudices and ignorance. It's funny too as a straight male I have been immersed in the Katy Perrys of the worlds. Visuals and Asthetics. Gritating and moving their hips in sexual ways. To say the least. Like said in the article. Lovato currently does it. The moment an overtly sexual Openly LGBT Artist. Performs in that way. IT is a problem. Obviousley back in the day Elvis and MJ. That is prob why Adams performance in 2009 was so shocking to so many ppl. But it was so so important.

For one year a discussion raged on the media about that male on male kiss at the AMAs.. not a big deal today
