Adam has such a perfect gig with Queen. - Some of the most challenging and varied repertoire in pop and rock music.
A large catalogue of songs to choose from. A group that is known for being highly theatrical where he can play to his strengths. Founding members to whom money is no object when it comes to creating a set and presenting a show. A multi-generational audience around the world who clamor to see QAL. Personnel who have become close friends and all of whom enjoy each other and what they are doing. Brian and Roger allow and encourage input and creativity from Adam, and heap praise on him as their frontman. Sold out arena and stadium shows around the world. Being the center of attention on stage. Getting overwhelmingly positive reviews and write ups. Being recognized as the best voice in the business. Earning insane amounts of money for doing what he loves and following his passions.
Why wouldn't Adam continue to perform with Queen for as long as it is viable? Yes, we fans want him to create and release new music, be involved with new projects musical and non-musical. Adam surely has had many opportunities to do that. He is choosing to stay with Queen. I can't blame him. That adrenaline rush while onstage is reason enough. Nothing else in the world quite like it. Great post, thank you! Queen gives Adam so much. And he will have all the time for his solo music, once Queen retires. Only, that Adam has then many more fans and a great reputation in many countries. In the end, it’s a business: Adam must do, what is offered to him. And when Queen is calling, what better offer could there be? He would be really stupid not to take the opportunity. Let’s face it: his solo career is fine. But it’s nowhere as successful as he is with Queen. Building his name as their lead singer can only be good for later. I‘m sure, many fans, who enjoyed the Queen shows check out his solo tours. I did, my friends did or are looking forward to do so, because they only discovered him through Queen after TOH- tour. And by the way, more and more longtime Queen fans, even diehards, are coming around. A look at some of the current threads in the QueenOnline forum is very telling. 😉 (Here is a link, discuss.queenonline.com/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=8808&start=120 scroll to the end of the page.)

Because he's in a position to become a legend and be remembered after he's gone, but only if he has his own success. He'll be forgotten pretty quickly if all he does is fill in for Freddie. And I'm pretty sure he does have ambition and wants to leave something behind him. I agree with you, that Adam has everything to become a legend. I just don’t think, he is in a position to become one at the moment. Why? Because without support, he can‘t achieve anything. And with all his talents, I don’t see a label, management or anything in the moment, that will support him in that way. And let’s face it: RCA and Warner did try their best. Yes, in the end their strategies didn’t work. The next label/management will be the third try. How big are the chances, that this will work? I think, Adam will have a long, great career. Will he be a legend? For me for sure. If he will ever get there, it will have been a long way. And that way has Queen as a part of it. But I‘m happy with the career he has and for his own health, I hope he is as well.

Fronting Queen is great but it is really not substantially different than doing 8 shows a week on Broadway in roll someone else originated and we have heard his thoughts on that. Virtually stand here, sing this, say these lines...maybe a bit more freedom with QAL but not much room for originality. At least with his own music it is totally HIS vision and voice both literally and figuratively.

As for becoming a legend and solo a worldwide superstar: I would be careful what to wish for. I just thought of Demi Lovato. Some here were really upset, because Adam didn’t get the chance to tour with her or because she often got opportunities, that Adam never gets. But we can clearly see, that this doesn’t make her happy.
Adam is happy with Brian and Roger. I actually cannot remember to have seen such happy faces on a professional stage. They are all beaming with joy. It’s one of the things, that I absolutely love about QAL. Adam is a teamplayer. This band is good for him. And I would rather want him to play with Queen forever (that won’t happen😉), than him ending like too many of these „legends“.

At least that would be my guess, given the curious decisions they made, since I have no idea what's happening bts. And I don't know how big his chances are, but I do know that his chances are zero if he puts no new music out there. People who don't succeed put more and more music out there, hoping one of the songs will break through.

Talk to some Broadway singers who remain anonymous, work like dogs and get little fame or money.IMHO no comparison, Adam has a dream gig right now.. Being with Queen must be like a total musical education. As Adam has said being with Queen will probably influence his new music. Maybe New Vision being amplified..kind of exciting to think about

Adam is working on his 4th studio album, how is that only filling in for Freddie? Besides, Freddie has been gone for over 25 years so Adam is now the frontman for Queen and being very successful at it. He is a solo artist as well. I think he has managed both careers very well and has managed to get some judging and acting gigs along the way. When you are with a major label, everything will not always go according to your wants or what fans demand. Changing labels is even more of a challenge. Adam smartly has not put all his financial goals and exposure in the hands of labels or US radio. They may or may not give him a chance to soar. Some may want new music even if it goes nowhere. But it is what Adam wants that will take priority. His first two solo tours (according to Forbes) made him 6mil and 5mil after expenses and before taxes. My guess is TOH tour gave him about the same. Adam has three very successful solo tours under his belt. But Queen gives him even more financially and with exposure. How wonderful it that for his financial security? He is probably doing the best that he can and simply cannot tell fans what we want to know just yet. I really hope he is getting what he wants with these changes even if we need to wait a bit to find out what they are or to get new music.
ETA: I see no reason to question Adam's mental stability. The way others cope (or don't) have nothing to do with how he handles the ups and downs of this business or life.

If I believed for one second that Adam is satified being with Queen, I would've said nothing. I'm sure it makes him happy, as much as I'm sure he also wants to have his own big success. Dealing with fame is hard for sure, especially for people who became famous as children. I guess they need a very stable background in order to deal. But I really don't think we should worry about Adam in this regard. He's had a healthy childhood, he has supportive envirement, and he seems very balanced emotionally.
