Maybe Burning Man needs a Camp Adamtopia??? I would love to go as well but would never manage it without "knowing" someone but I'd sure be up for a group of us going. Should we maybe set up a Burner section on the blog here and continue discussing it?

Not sure Kesha was at Burning Man- here's her tour schedule for the last week or so: August 30, 2011 Saint Paul August 31, 2011 Council Bluffs September 2, 2011 Kansas City September 3, 2011 Broomfield September 6, 2011 Calgary Although I guess she could have flown in and out for a quick visit on the 1st or the 5th. Maybe she was testing out our beautiful Canadian Rockies...a mecca for hiking and camping, before her show in Calgary. She was definitely in Calgary on the 6th.The local entertainment reporter wrote almost half a page on Kesha. bottom line: 3 openers and he reported she gave a short show. "She and her show ...seem a whole lot less than they aspire to." ...targeting the under age group... lots of grade schoolers ..and the show was fairly adult in orientation. 7,600 people attended..... gets me wondering what the world of pop will be like for Adam after album 2 drops. Go Adam!

I don't think there are any of us that could not use a little soul searching and clarifying...I know I sure could....

Good morning, I'm just on page 9, but I'd like to post this now, before I forget it. Q3 about the GREATEST SONG Since atop is so international, it would be lovely to see/hear also our favourite songs in other languages than English. (And if possible, YTs with English lyrics - or written lyrics from somewhere else).

I ask myself, would I have gone to Burning Man when I was young? I loved art and music but my feet were set on a different path. I flexed my adventurous spirit toward success in a world dominated by men. It was exciting, difficult and ultimately very rewarding.
But I think that the art and music lover is still inside and perhaps even better, the years have added a love of philosophy and a desire to achieve an emotional balance with the cosmos. Perhaps I would be better served at a quiet retreat rather than a hedonistic revelry of youthful exuberance but I think there must be a place there for contemplation and gentle joy. Would I only end up feeling old and tired? I will have to think about whether my body has the strength and my soul has the fortitude to find all that I would want to find.
But I will be thinking about it and just the thought of momtomany as our fearless leader makes me happy. I am sure we will talk more.

Most English language dominated countries do not get to her non-English music. So it will need to be done with regional/language genre heats. Expect to see it next week -- and I am not a minor expert in J-Pop and K-Pop music cause I am starting with Asia. But the Spanish and Italian music will be the most fun from what I have assembled so far. Expect it next Thursday -- just over a week away!! [Most fun thing I have put together in ages. I had no idea how much great music there is out there. South Africa rocks.] In the meantime -- if you haven't voted in the current poll, please vote!!!

I like some of Johnny Mathis' songs, but I detest his voice. Good songs when sung by others, but there is something about his voice that is almost fingernails on the chalkboard for me! There is some fuzzy, vibration thing that just drives me nuts. I usually like male voices, so this is something very, very specific with him - almost the total antithesis of Adam's voice which always makes me feel happy and comfortable! I get that many people love his voice, but I can't deal with his vibrato--goat vibrato, some call it. I can't listen to him at all because of that.
