I admire the heck out of all of you, but I can't imagine any circumstance, even the Almighty AFL, that would motivate me to go somewhere with no trees, no water, no showers. I'm not being snide, I am just being honest. I have experienced communal artistic and musical retreats with the same hippie vibe, but they were in the mountains of Colorado with creeks and greenery. The facilities were fairly primitive, but, but, but. Really, I do admire those of you who are considering the possibilities but I don't think I'd be strong enough to deal with it. '

Now I feel like a wimp and a loser! Can I still get a ticket for the Glam Bus when we tour Europe?

I am interested in Burning Man next year, and would love to go with an Adamtopia group! I'm a backpacker (slow and not so far now...) and I think a bunch of helpful ideas from that could translate well into preparing for Burning Man. I also have several old bicycles, still covered with playa dust, from when my sons went 8 or so years ago. Oh, and some old dome tents that went to BM with them.

Oooh! Q3 - I found the perfect Nevada desert lollipops for you! (I'll make sure at least one will be vodka flavored). [ponders] [only somewhat joking] I wonder if I can get these on a hat..........

NoAngel, *slap* Snap out of it! Where has "talking sense into ourselves" ever got us? Yes, we have our sane, responsible, workaday lives where we opt for sometimes rewarding careers and steady paychecks and relegate the Burning Man (or woman) – the Artist Within – to be a hobby ... a lark ... something we do for ourselves when we're not stanning AFL fulltime. (Erm, when is that anymore?? :-/) Or it's a "pipe dream" that we've long buried and given up on pursuing because Real Life has taken over. We can do it. I have a feeling that the extremity of the situation adds the stripping of the shells – and the souls. That which is irrelevant becomes truly irrelevant. You burn from within and without and learn that we can survive when we've abandoned all our superficial wants, needs and conveniences. I'm in!!

....but guise, do you see what these people wear? Looks to me like one needs a great ass and the proclivity to expose it. I think I'll wait for the European Glam bus.
