Thanks Readon!! Those YTs are awesome!!!
Just when I'm wondering if I can hang with the elements (I wanted to go this year and am planning to do it next year), I see those vids and and think I have to go for it.

Not sure Kesha was at Burning Man- here's her tour schedule for the last week or so: August 30, 2011 Saint Paul August 31, 2011 Council Bluffs September 2, 2011 Kansas City September 3, 2011 Broomfield September 6, 2011 Calgary Although I guess she could have flown in and out for a quick visit on the 1st or the 5th. Someone had said her tour schedule might have permitted it but wow, I don't see how. I guess 4th and 5th would be all. I love that weelassie enhancement. I like those better than when people change the color of his eyes and stuff. (Although, I do have that black and white close-up of his eyes that is Lisapf's avi? As my phone wallpaper.) And wasn't everything being taken down on 5th? I think that's when people were in line for five hours to get out of there.

At first view of Burning Man, my thoughts were "This is an extreme camping experience and I know that I can't hang". The more I watched and saw the photos, I have to say I am tempted. I find I want to tip my toe into this lake of "experience". My sane mind says "NO", but.... Probabilty is close to zero.

I would suggest the front page of the Daily News each day, and/or the Monthly News Roundup that Tinafea does each month! atop.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=newsarchives

But I will live vicariously through you all that do go.

My sane mind says "WTF, woman, you hate heat, dust, dirt, camping." But there's a part of me, ever growing, that is very very tempted. The philosophy and the spirit of it is very appealing. Momtomany's descriptions have been alluring. One of my employees just came back from BM yesterday (she's been several times). AFter I found out she was going, we talked about it a lot, and she's fanatic about it. She keeps saying I "have to" go-- that she can tell by talking to me that I would love it and fit right in, lol. IDK IDK... :-/

Thanks Readon!! Those YTs are awesome!!! Just when I'm wondering if I can hang with the elements (I wanted to go this year and am planning to do it next year), I see those vids and and think I have to go for it. There's only a brief moment in one of the videos that shows some of the writing that adorned every square reachable inch of the Temple. The poetry of anguish and hope appeared as delicate wallpaper by the time the burn took place on Sunday night. And Monday (the 5th) was the exodus; not the arrival. I didn't spend time with the Temple bells; to each his own. I preferred being a part of the play of light; the sunrises and the harmonic, harp-filled sunsets. For everyone there, the Temple had special meaning; it was Eastern; it was Indian; it was Native American; it was of druids and other worlds and spirits and gods; and of simple sentiment, sadness and hope. Everyone there felt the universal link and the universal longing. And I already miss it so much. I told some friends today - this year I am feeling the 'crossover' - where the Burn becomes more than a yearly sojourn; it becomes the counting of days until the journey home begins again. The beauty of the photography and the liveliness of the videos only scratch the surface. I'm thinking you know what I mean. After all, we've seen Adam live, in performance. And no video can capture that essence; the spirit of the participants and the permeating love. Ah, yes - so like Burning Man. The only thing - the only thing I missed this year was the sound of his voice in the early morning. Broken Open, at the Temple, will have to live in my dreams awhile longer.

I have done a lot of camping and so that would not be a problem and lynne, it gets cold at night so the sleeping would be good. It's the dust that kind of freaks me out, I don't like sandy beaches for that reason. But maybe the dust would act like talcum powder and soak up the sweat of the day and lots of baby wipes would take care of the necessary hygiene issues. Maybe ....
